Georgia Tech does not worry me for some reason. I'm not overlooking them, and I know Charlie isn't either....he's been preparing for them all summer.
That in itself is a HUGE advantage for the Irish. You just can't give Charlie more then a week to prepare for you. He'll pick that defense apart.
I honest to god feel it might be ugly.
In any week one, the ball can bounce funny, timing can be off and kinks still need to be worked out. G.T. was right there in the poll with teams like Boise St, Wisconsin, UCLA, Fresno St & Iowa St. All games on the road that i would not consider a cake walk by any means. People voting seem to like Tech alot more than a michigan St team that didn't receive a vote!
It also wouldn't be the 1st time a measly +7.5 underdog won a home game either.
Your response was actually perfect because it's the SAME EXACT attitude i'm afraid of the Irish having. You can say Charlie will have them prepared all you want but they are kids and they are looking at much bigger games on the schedule.
Do i think the Irish will lose? No, but i'm just saying BE CAREFUL or be tagged with an UPSET!
N.D. won't forget that loss @ home to Michigan St last year. State is also simply not as good as the team that beat the Irish either. N.D. will go into their house with their blood boiling for that one and they will CRUSH the Spartans! (imo)
if you like GT as a home dog you gotta love Navy also. Navy will be no joke this year IMO. they return a bazillion starters and will give ND a dog fight stay tuned!!!

I agree!
N.D. has a recent history of results that just make you scratch your head in the last 10 years. Remember how much Ty was loved there when they looked to be on the UP & UP?
N.D. can easily slip up without a dominating defense and that schedule. With that said, i still think zero or one loss is likely!

I agree with what your saying...I understand it completely. Maybe its coming from a been there done that attitude that scares people, but with that offense almost totally intact from last year, its just a quiet confidence.

Your 100% right. They play ND tough every single year.
I will be interested to see the line, and if it's more then 8...I'm taking Navy
wow really, i just assumed they played every year. didnt they use to? i didnt even look @ neb schedule. sorry.
Big 12 South teams don't play all the big 12 North teams during the regular season. I don't think Neb-OU has been an annual affair since the advent of the Big 12. I'm not sure how it's determined which South teams play which north teams in a given year. OU plays IA State and Colorado from the North this year during the regular season. Nebraska plays Texas and a pair of Aggies (OSU and A&M) from the South.
I dont have tunnel vision. I am just strongly opinionated like everyone else here. I am not biased towards Miami but I did research on them and they look like a good team. They have one of the most talented defenses in the Nation. A good WR Core along with the best TE in the nation. If Kyle Wright can be a good QB, which I think he can, they could have a very successful year.
As for the Big 12, Over the last couple of years I have seen this league play no one out of conference and get dominated in the bowls (until last year). Maybe you guys are right and maybe the Big 12 has changed, but people say that every year and I am not buying it. I never have and until they prove me wrong I never will. Last year they did show improvement going I think 4-3 in the bowls (if you count the Kansas game) and Texas was the National Champs but other than Vince Young that whole conference was weak and I will not concede that a league whose big 3 is Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska is better than a league whose Big 3 is Michigan, Iowa and Ohio State. Not to mention the Big 10 is way deeper which I already proved like 3-4 pages back.
