Its not like he is going to have to carry us or anything. We will be carried on the backs of Clinton Portis and Sean Taylor.

He would have to do something to get you guys to the superbowl. I realize Trent Dilfer etc etc got their teams to the superbowl, but I'm not buying it.

This kind of talk kills me. How soon do we all forget last season? Last December the Redskins and Cowboys met in Washington, esentially with a playoff berth on the line, and the Redskins DESTROYED them, leading 35-0 early in the 3rd quarter before calling off the dogs. Brunell threw 3 TDs in the first half of that game by the way. A few weeks later the Skins were winning a playoff game in Tampa while the 'Boys sat at home.

Now the Cowboys have added a 32-year-old WR who didnt even play last year and a kicker who choked HUGE in the playoffs last year and suddenly they are the Super Bowl team and the Redskins suck. It doesn't make any sense. No one has any basis for this other than saying the Redskins "suck" or are "overrated," without giving any reasons why. Except to say Brunell is old even tho he's basically the same age as Bledsoe. It's just so ridiculous. The Redskins went 10-2 in the NFC last year and added solid player in Llyod and Randle-El to the position they were worst at. Yeah, Randle-El is overpaid and yeah, he's overrated, but how many teams in the league have a better 3rd WR than the guy who started for the Super Bowl champs last year? They also added possibly the best O-Coord in the NFL to play with Portis, Moss, Lloyd, and Cooley among others, while retaining Gregg Williams to lead one of the best defenses in the NFC. Why would this team "suck"? They didn't suck last year with Brunell, so why would they suck this year?

People act like T.O. will have the same effect on Dallas he had in Philly, except Philly was already the best team in the NFC before T.O. got there. Dallas couldn't even make the playoffs last year.

I can't wait to watch the Cowboys crash and burn this season.

Redskins and Giants will come out of the East to make the playoffs. Mark it down.

My prediction of the Redskins winning the NFC is based on having the arm of Jason Campbell if Brunell isn't performing. I think Campbell is very capable of leading this team to a big season, plus I love that they have added Al Saunders as the OC.

Teams will put 8 guys in the box forcing Brunnel to throw. If he's forced to throw they are in trouble.

This is EXACTLY what people were saying last year. Did we not make the divisional playoffs just 7 months ago? Did I dream that whole thing up?

And that was with no 2nd WR whatsoever opposite Moss AND before we added Al Saunders.

Experience is only important central if you're the main player on the team. He wouldn't have to do much to make this team great - I mean, 17 points per game wins them 10 games.

I was a fan of Brunell when he was with the Jags. What made Brunnel very good was his ability to scramble and throw the ball on the run. He no longer possesses that ability. He also has questionable arm strength.

TP, you're allowing your bias towards you team affect your judgement if you think the Skins can win with an rookie QB. Without Brunell the Skins have been bad. What makes you think they can win without him?

Cheech you don't have to tell me about Brunell. I am well aware of the guy's shortcomings. He was absolutely AWFUL in 2004. I could never write enough words to describe how bad he was in some of those games. It was painful to watch.

But in 2005 he came back and played some really good games. He had those 2 long TD passes in Dallas on MNF to steal that game. He played well in the huge win over NYG in December. He made several pinpoint throws in the playoff clincher in Philly. I'm sure people forget this, but he was actually mentioned as a Pro Bowl candidate in the NFC at one point last year, partly because the NFC doesn't have NEARLY the QB talent the AFC has, and partly because Brunell was surrounded by good players that helped him overcoming his various shortcomings.

Brunell is not Peyton Manning, he's not even Jake Delhomme. But with all the talent the Redskins have and the great coaches the Redskins have, he doesn't need to be. He just needs to be Trent Dilfer. The Skins have WAY more offensive talent than the 2000 Ravens, and while their defense isn't as good as that team, they are a very solid bunch. The Redskins have the best coaches in the NFL, a talented offense with numerous weapons, a consistently tough defense, a good home field advantage (6-0 vs. the NFC at home last year), and playoff experience from the year before. This sounds like a good football team to me. All I'm calling for them to do is go 1 round further than they did last season.

                                Is that so unrealistic?
