Braves/Red Sox Trade Rumor

MLB TRADE UPDATE FROM BUSTER OLNEY
The Red Sox and the Braves have talked about a deal that would send Andruw Jones to Boston for Coco Crisp, Craig Hansen and a prospect. But according to an executive familiar with the discussions, the Braves made a counter offer, asking for Jon Lester to be the third player.

I think the Braves are nuts to do that without Lester included. Andruw Jones could conceivably be on the all time top 10 HR list when his career is over.

The Sox need Jones to stay as active as the Yankees. Although I still think they are the best team in the Majors.

I would trade Lester and Crisp for Andruw Jones in a heartbeat. When you are the Yankees or RedSox, you have tons of money, you spend it on big pitchers that can handle the pressure. Good pitchers are worthless on those teams, i.e Clement, Pavano etc. Lester is a good young pitcher. Andruw Jones is a great Centerfielder and homerun hitter, and he's still young. No question, the RedSox should pull the trigger on that trade. IMO

I don't get it. In the offseason the big budget teams can pick up the best players, basically trading for air. WHO CARES WHAT YOU TRADE? Just get the best players.

If the Sox can get Andruw Jones, I think we make the deal even if it includes Lester. We are talking a bona-fide Hall of Famer in Fenway! Lester can be great, but it is all about the 'P' word...POTENTAIL!

Big Mistake from the Sox if they got Jones they could trade for some starter and win it all this year.

As much as i would love to have Jones(assuming he is healthy), Crisp, Lester and Hansen is just too much.
If the Braves want to take Seanez, Tavarez and Snyder (all of them) in place of either Lester or Hansen, I "think" it would be a "good" move for Sox(I'm not sure how good for the Braves).
