Nothing---yes----Nothing--that shoe fits all owners, not just Steinbrener......

That was my statement----nothing to do with George.........and his/team decisions.....also said, that MLB needs new rules governing how much $ can be spent.........kapt
Yes I understand and agree especially with the last statement.

Can't wait until Abreu comes up with 2 on 2 outs and the game on the line and strikes out looking. He's not as good as everyone thinks he is. Trust me I have been watching him for years. Ever since the derby last year he has been average at best.

Look what they got in return. Phils wanted that Phillips kid or whatever his name is Yanks wouldn't give him up. Wait until the Yanks fans see his play in the outfield, very lazy. I have no idea how he won a gold glove. In tight spots when the game is on the line it's obvious he doesn't want to be up at the plate. He is the opposite of Big Papi.

Last year he changed his swing for the HR Derby and ever since then he has been so so. Plus I think the trade talk took a toll on him. Maybe he will be better in NY where he doesn't have to be "the guy".

Sometimes when a good team acquires a player with a losing attitude from a losing team in mid season, it can actually be detrimental. Bad karma is what they call it.

Sox in my opinion would be "robbing Peter to pay Paul" if they let either Lowell or Loretta get away. I rate the chances as practically nil.

I think this is a good trade for both teams...but I am confused as to why Cashman went for offense. Even if Matsui and Sheff do not come back you got Damon, Jeter, Giambi, A-Rod, Posada, Cano...you have enough offense. They need a top 3 pitcher, not a back end of the rotation starter. If they follow thi sup with a front 3 type guy, look out....

I'm not a Yankees fan but I'm one of the few who admires their organization. Say what you will but they always try to improve their team and while they spend a carload of money, they seem to do it wisely. I think this trade is a steal for the Yanks. I agree that Boston and Chicago and Minny and Toronto all need to make a big move in the next 24 hours to keep pace.

I think Abreu is a great baseball player

300 hitter his whole life......can score a 100 and drive in a 100 in his sleep and a better than 400 on base guy who can steal a base whenever he wants.....who cares he doesnt hit for much power....thats not what wins games.....runs and ribs do

                            PEACE

I think this trade wins the Division for N.Y. unless Boston does something big!

Nixon gets hurt tonight and now they can't use Pena in trade talks anymore. I have to be honest in saying that it isn't looking good for Boston or Toronto (Right now)!

Who cares Wayne......theyve always thrown money at the problem and it doesnt fix anything.......Boston has the chemistry and will get Wells, Clement and Wakefield back soon to go along with Schill, Lester and Beckett

I think Boston is fine and still the team to beat in the EAST
