I forgot about the cell phone;that seems like a real pain in the ass, as keys are so small, etc.
ps I am a creature of habit and ever since the days of locals(which I no longer use) I have always been able to phone in a bet if the situation required it.
I guess I will open up a small acount with an offshore which allows this type of betting for situations where I don't have ready access to a computer.

Honestly, betting is not that important to me. I no longer have the uncontrollable NEED to place a bet. I've learned it's easier to pass.

Also, don't forget the language barrier. I had to call an offshore once for a technical problem. What a pain in the ass? I could barely understand the guy on the other end some where in the Cayman's.

It beats talking to a stranger and hoping he/she did it right after spend all that time on the phone discussing exactly who i am. I'm all set with that. My cell phones takes about 2 minutes but with 24 hours to view lines, i pretty much bet what i want to bet BEFORE i leave the house and do worry about games i didn't wager on. I rarely have the urge to go back in and places more wagers after my original ones are in!

            100% agreed!

I called to check on a transfer once and had to repeat everything 3 times. It was painful!

I'm the same way. On an extreme rare occassion will I go back online and place more wagers. 99.9% of the time I place all my wagers at the same time.

              Bet it and Forget it!

In 7 years with WWTS they have NEVER made a mistake with a wager-I simply give my pin number, the bet, they repeat it and thats it;it is real simple.
I understand/respect your point about not betting after your original bets are in;some of us are structured differently.
ps It is VERY rare to have a problem with clerks at WWTS anyways(can't speak about other offshores). Most speak and understand English quite well.

There is no doubt in my mind almost all offshores will switch to this policy.

The Wire Act, one of the laws under which Carruthers, et al, are being charged, refers specifically to phone lines. I believe the offshores are switching to internet only bets to minimize the chances of the type of charges brought against BoS/Millenium.

I'll predict 90 percent of offshores stop taking phone bets by the end of the year.

I agree with this 100% even though WWTS told me the decision had nothing to do with the Wire Act and betonsports it(yeah right-the check is in the mail, I won't cum in you mouth, etc.).

                        Frank,

Don't you ever wait until the last minute to place bets because of line movement?
Whenever I play a dog on Monday night, I wait until the last few minutes before kickoff because the public invariably bets the favorite?

We all use the remotes of our TV. What would happen if the batteries die in the remote, you don't have any replacements in the house and for some reason the tv doesn't come with the capabilities to turn it on and off, change stations manually, etc? How would you feel? I realize analogy isn't perfect, but it does show how I feel about phone betting with offshores. Same principle.

I used to. I rarely do so anymore. The only time I wait for line movement is in Football and only with -3.5 or +2.5. My theory is if I like a team at -4.5 why wait till you get it at -4. With football I bet most of my games on Friday. I get a free 1/2 point.

Also, don't forget sometimes the line moves against us. I've had that happen on some occasions. So why wait? IMO it probably evens out in the long run.

Simple! I refuse to watch TV without the remote. I'll do something different like go online.
