people keep throwing this crap around about clemens only going to houston for the money, which is ridiculous. Tom Hicks in Texas would have given Clemens a blank check to sign with the Rangers, and if he chose to get the Sox/Yanks in a bidding war, he would have gotten way more than Houston gave him.
the guy wanted to sign with his hometown team where he's been the last two years. also, when he signed with them, they were in better position than either of the last 2 years, where they made game 7 of the alcs and then the world series.
