You need to be above reproach. One of the best sayings to live by.

And also, don't you think the reason so many of you guys are so heated about this is because you LIKE Harold Reynolds? You're letting the subjective affect your objective viewpoint on the situation.
Obviously one has to draw the line somewhere, and I don't know all the facts.
Still, I am frankly sick in general of people getting into trouble for as little as whistling at a women-how awful!!!
Its one thing of a guy pulls his pants down or touches a woman in a "private" part, but to say something justsuggestive-big deal;as long as he doesn't act on it.
I wouldn't want a woman that weak working for me if she couldn't stand up/deal with just meaningless words which can't physically hurt you.

Women want to the same work as do men and receive the same pay, etc.. Fine.
If that is true, then let them act like most men and be oblivious to remarks or better yet if a guy says something suggestive to them, then return it in kind.
I am exaggerating a little, but I say unless someone is really threat to a woman in a physical manner, then I say she should ignore just words, a whistle or a simply hug or tell the guy to STFU.
God-are women such patsies and paranoid that they have to screaming sexual harassment about everything!!!

i think alot of you are upset at who was fired and not why which is very very understandable...if you want to turn this thread into a sexual harassment topic thread...none of you..unless you've been sexually harassed in the workplace can make any valid points are far as I'm concerned...and the ones that start whistling are usually the ones that end up touching...and i don't understand how your boss or co-worker constantly making sexual comments towards you (or meaningless words as you call them)...is meaningless

Frank you don't have all the facts.

They just signed him to a new contract for I believe 8 years. Then they turn around and fire him. He must have had some warnings before then cleaned up his act then after signing the contract did something that could possibly bring a lawsuit so out he went.

And if he didn't do anything wrong then he should be filing a lawsuit against ESPN.

If he's sexually harassing women then he should be ashamed for several reasons.

                1. He' married with a new baby
                2. He talks about God and Religion
                3. Sexual harrasment is wrong

My feelings about making good natured remarks to women are now as then "Fuck em if they can't take a joke."
What about training for women to not dress up provocatively so men won't feel the need to say/do something in the first place? You won't see that as that would be an "infringement" on WOMEN'S right and would have the militant women's rights screaming! What a fucked up and one sided society we live in when it comes to this stuff!!
                  Agree

Women should have to go through the same training. If no one believes that men are not sexually harrased at work then they live in fantasy land. Granted it happens more to women though than men.

To lose your job over saying something or touching someone;it makes my want to puke. Are there no warnings or second chances or even sensitivity classes(dumb as they may be) for a loyal employee?
ps I would love to Reynolds charge racism in this instance.
He would lose and I doubt he sues them as i'm sure they have a lot on him.

No offense but I think you do. Men, women and children in say Israel fear for their lives every day of their lives, and we worry/make a big deal about words are ok to say before women go running to daddy(the supervisor) to say "he touched me" or said "I looked hot today." or heaven forbid" he gave me a hug or a (good natured) pinch on the leg."
"I can't take it anymore. I want this horrible, nasty guy fired."

what goes on in israel is irrelevant....when your staring at a girl and telling her she looks hot what are you usually thinking to yourself? Guys dont give "good natured" pinches....its more like a i want to get in your pants pinch....why should that kind of crap be allowed in a workplace? it shouldnt imo.

You have you sense of perspective, I have mine.
I am just saying a woman is soft in this day and age when our ENTIRE society revolves around sex-commercials, talk, magazines, tv shows, etc and she can't take harmless stuff/remarks in the workplace.
I used Israel to make a point about the important stuff in like-like ability to survive in comparison with a whole lot to do about nothing for the most part and I stand by it!
You call some actions inappropriate-I call it as does Frank "soft" in many instances when referring to certain parts of our society including the workplace.

I'm shy by nature, so I would never be harrassing women at work anyway, but how would any of you guys like it if your daughters were on the business end of the harrassment? And if you're a married guy or in a relationship, would you go home and tell your significant other that you were chatting up a young girl in the break room? I think not.

My rule has always been that if I wouldn't do it while my wife was with me or if I wouldn't tell her I did it, it's wrong. The only exceptions are betting on taxicab races and bolivian midget porn.

Maybe that is why you have to go buy a RENT A WIFE from another country! Yeah, Savage she really loves you, she didnt just want to get into the USA!!!!

I would hope my daughter who is now 11 someday when she is an adult would brush aside any remarks and/or being touched unless she REALLY and I mean is threatened in a physical type of way. At the very least,
I would want her to politely ask the guy to stop whatever he was doing BEFORE she went running to "daddy"(her supervisor).
When I was employed, I used to admire one lady who used to scoff like I do now at all this overblown nonsense that we say today.
If a married man is flirting with a young hottie and not doing anything more, his wife finds out about it and is angered, then obviously their relationship(the married couple) is not based on very solid footing and trust to begin with.
