Seems to me that ESPN was looking for an excuse to fire Reynolds.
I think it was more than that but nobody is talking right now.

Reynolds spoke to the New York Post and doesn't believe he did anything wrong.

"This was a total misunderstanding," Reynolds told The Post. "My goal is to sit down and get back. To be honest with you, I gave a woman a hug and I felt like it was misinterpreted."
The Big Lead, who needs to put a gold star next to its source on this, says it was a minor incident that blew into a larger one because of Reynolds' history of behavior. Reynolds, for his part, still wants his job back. We think it wise that he not hold his
he gave her a hug....a few things he left out....

      1) he was wearing a speedo
      2) when he pulled apart from the embrace she was left with a creampie, which he immediately tried to explain as his dunkin donut boston creme donut must have broken

Maybe she got freaked that he was black or had a big black hard-on while he hugged her and she was afraid of that trouser snake...LOL

OR maybe AROD paid her large sums of cash to get him fired w/ a hug...

It sounds like his behavior has been questioned in the past...so ONE, he's an idiot for even shaking hands w/ a female co-worker...I liked the dude a lot, however, IF he is/was that STUPID, IMHO, I don't think he has a chance in hell of getting his job back w/ ESPN...the obvious silence out of ESPN says A LOT...lawyers now have this and they are telling all to say nothing and I'm sure the consequences of leaking anything is TERMINATION...conduct unbecoming...and so on...GOOD LUCK.

We live in a sexual society, where for example just about every commercial you see has something to do with sex.
He didn't rape her or anything;are women like her wound up so tight that just someone touching you makes you cry "fire?"
Heaven forbid if her husband/boyfriend should actually touch her with a little more intent?
Talk about sensitivity training-maybe there should be courses for women to learn to deal with issues like this as well as words such as such "horrible" words as "You look hot today."
        FUCK YOU, FUCK ME

In no way am I defending Reynolds. The sad reality is there's a possibility he did NOTHING wrong. Simply a sign of the times. Today, all a woman has to do is YELL sexual harrassment and the media will jump all over it before getting any facts. Networks cover their asses. The easiest thing for ESPN to do is fire Reynolds.

I remember a number of years ago when I was working as a state employee and had to travel to Boston about 1hr 45 minutes away to spend a day in "training" to listen to a full day of this shit about sexual harassment.
My feelings about making good natured remarks to women are now as then "Fuck em if they can't take a joke."
What about training for women to not dress up provocatively so men won't feel the need to say/do something in the first place? You won't see that as that would be an "infringement" on WOMEN'S right and would have the militant women's rights screaming! What a fucked up and one sided society we live in when it comes to this stuff!!

Some of you guys have no idea what it's like out here. I posted a few months ago that I had to learn how to get avators deleted because viewing any nude internet image at work is grounds for firing.

I can't imagine ever hugging a female co-worker. You're playing with fire. Most people in the corporate world know this. But Reynolds is an ex-player and those guys are used to getting away with murder (like Jayson Williams) or rape (like Kobe). Reynolds is in the real world now and isn't used to it.

If Reynolds really wanted to trip up the politically correct crowd, he'd claim he's a victim of racism.

As for ESPN, that joint is a left wing bastion of nuttiness. Remember how they canned Rush for harmless comments aboutthe media's kid-glove treatment of Donovan McNabb? Watch some of the crap on Outside the Lines? Listen to Steven A. Smith. Lefties, all of them.

I am left wing politically speaking but when it comes to this feminism/harassment/one sided affirmative action nonsense, I break ranks.
To lose your job over saying something or touching someone;it makes my want to puke. Are there no warnings or second chances or even sensitivity classes(dumb as they may be) for a loyal employee?
ps I would love to Reynolds charge racism in this instance.

You obviously don't work in the corporate world. If you had that attitude in a place of business, now, you wouldn't be able to hold a job and you would likely be sued.

I'll reiterate.....i'd be pissed if some asshole was harrassing my wife while at work.

I didn't see I would hold a job in corporate world. However, I still think too mnay women and corporations are wound much too tight when it comes to this stuff especially when it comes to harmless words spoken from one employee to another or a lousy hug in case of Reynolds-how awful like she needs 10 hour of surgery to recover.

What's your definition of harrasment? You'd be pissed if a male friend gave you wife a hug?

Savage, in the corporate world, there are rules against dress, for males and females, as there are rules against conduct. In either case, it is up to Managers' to upheld the policies of an organization. And why do you think Sexual Harassment is only male against female? I have a friend who was fired because he wouldn't sexually satisfy his 50 yr old married female superior. Quite honestly, your take on this is VERY old school.

Old school means nothing;right does not make right.
I say sexual harassment, affirmative action and all this other crap has got way out of line and is too slanted, and remember this is coming from a Liberal politically speaking.
One reason I never joined the corporate world is that I could never subscribe to the robotic like thinking necessary (such as in sexual hasrassment) in order to survive.
At least as a state employee while I was subjected to some of this meaningless and overblown shit, I had civil service protection and openly spoke my mind about a lot of these matters including sexual harassment , one sided affirmative action, etc. without the fear that I could get fired.
You are entitled to your opinion, as I am mine;I am more concerned with MUCH mores serious matters in the world than words and hugs and high strung/uptight employees and corporations worrying about frivolous lawsuits.
