Well, definitive word came down this morning: As had been initially suspected, Harold Reynolds was fired by ESPN because of sexual harassment, specifically toward an ESPN co-worker. (The Big Lead says it was an "inappropriate hug" toward a PA at an Outback Steakhouse.)
Reynolds spoke to the New York Post and doesn't believe he did anything wrong.
"This was a total misunderstanding," Reynolds told The Post. "My goal is to sit down and get back. To be honest with you, I gave a woman a hug and I felt like it was misinterpreted."
The Big Lead, who needs to put a gold star next to its source on this, says it was a minor incident that blew into a larger one because of Reynolds' history of behavior. Reynolds, for his part, still wants his job back. We think it wise that he not hold his

God-to think with all the people dying all over the world and all the horrible things happening, someone loses his job for touching/hugging a woman? Is there no sense of perspective anymore? Have we regressed to puritanical times?
We live in a sexual society, where for example just about every commercial you see has something to do with sex.
He didn't rape her or anything;are women like her wound up so tight that just someone touching you makes you cry "fire?"
Heaven forbid if her husband/boyfriend should actually touch her with a little more intent?
Talk about sensitivity training-maybe there should be courses for women to learn to deal with issues like this as well as words such as such "horrible" words as "You look hot today."Last edited by savage1; 07-26-2006, 11:24 AM.

Harrasment Is Far Different Than An Unwanted Hug......these Women Simply Have To Step And Say What Makes Them Uncomfortable.....wasnt Like He Was Using Any Power To Get In Her Pants Or Else....its Rediculous. Harold Wil Be Back Orhe Should Be The One That Sues.

I agree that he should have known better. We don't know what an "inappropriate hug" means. He could have embraced her and squeezed her ass. I know if someone did that to my wife, i'd be looking to kick their ass.
As an adult male in the workplace, i'm extremely aware of what may be considered harrassment and I behave accordingly and always have.
Again, I have no idea exactly what he did, but it's food for thought.Every

It truly is disgusting where we are heading as a society. Upon greeting I often hug a good friend. It's the way I was raised. People are too fucking sensitive.

Seems to me that ESPN was looking for an excuse to fire Reynolds.
