I'm telling you, from reports and interviews with his wife ... They REALLY love the thoughts of going round circle and finishing in Boston. Look at the atmosphere in Boston compared to boring Yankee stadium. It's not even comparable!Originally posted by tinman666THEY WILL GO WHERE THE MONEY IS SO YOU KNOW WHERE THAT WILL BE

And don't forget Kim and his woes when he pitched here.Originally posted by wayne1218AGREED. The Closer and defense have been foreign here for a long time and that includes one good year from Foulke. Even in '04 Foulke was always in trouble. I figured Papelbon was a given considering the constant props i give him here!

I can't think of anyone up to now over the many years who compares at all with Papelbon other than the monster (and now deceased) Dick Radatz, who toiled for some pretty lousy Red Sox teams for a few years but was magnificent and actually came in as early as the 7th inning for many of those saves(this was before middle relief came into vogue).

As terrible as they are playing I just don't see them falling enough behind. They are closer than they were last year, and the NL is worse this year than last. Also striking distance of StL as bad as they are playing.Originally posted by wayne1218Really?? Not me, IF Houston falls way back!

U can squash that rumor about Smoltz.. They said today on the news here locally that the Braves and Tigers are talking about a trade to send Smoltz there and Smoltz said that he would love to play for Detroit..Originally posted by wayne1218I heard if Houston falls further out that they may trade Clemens.
