Stats dont mean anything IMO....those teams were 13 years apart. The dolphins won every single game, the bears did not.

That is like saying Manning is better than Brady because he has better numbers...we already had that discussion.

The dolphins were PERFECT...that to me makes them the best team. I dont know much about the kind of stats miami or the bears had, i wasnt even born yet.

that's the exact reason you need to familarize your self with the stats....

13-0 vs a 15-1 team....you would think the 13-0 team would be better...but you would be mistaken.

I wasn't born when the 72 Dolphins played...but I did a lot of research and although it's not going to be 100% fool proof...I have made a very good case for the 85 Bears.

Telling me because the 72 Dolphins are the best team ever JUST because they won all their games doesn't tell the whole story.

well rook, i'll say this, that group of dolphins went to three straight super bowls, winning two straight. the bears that were together in 85 went to one, and won it, i think that has to contribute to the analysis

To me this is really a tough call to be honest .. John, yes the Bears were 15-1 with their only loss at the hands of the Dolphins ... Not sure if these stats are exact but I think I am close ... in 1985 Bears played Det, Atlanta and Dallas .. Combine score was something like 105-3 ... Then came the playoffs were they went against NYG, Rams and then Pats .. I am sure about all this because I have every game on VCR ... hahahaha anyway in the playoffs the combine score was 91-10 .. 1985 I would say they were the best team ever for that year ... but to say are the 1985 Chicago Bears the Best Single Season Team in History I think may be stretching it ... To me the best team in history would have to be a team that just dominated for years .. like the Bulls did in Jordon's era ...
