NCAAB Game of the Day: Texas Tech at Kansas betting preview and odds

No. 21 Texas Tech Red Raiders at No. 13 Kansas Jayhawks (-7, 149)

Texas Tech is a perfect 3-0 against top-25 opponents this year including a 77-53 smack-down of No. 17 Baylor on Friday night in its Big 12 opener. The Red Raiders will try to make it four in a row over ranked foes this season on Tuesday night when they travel to 11th-ranked Kansas.

The Jayhawks, who opened conference play with a 92-86 win at Texas, have won 13 Big 12 titles in a row so a road win would be huge for Texas Tech. Second-year Red raiders head coach Chris Beard will be trying to make history Tuesday night because the Red Raiders, who lost by just one point to then-No. 3 Kansas (80-79) at home last season, are 0-17 all-time at Allen Fieldhouse. Toss in the fact that Kansas has won 11 straight home conference openers dating back to a 59-55 loss to Kansas State on Jan. 14, 2006 and the Red Raiders definitely are trying to buck some pretty big trends. "The word around our camp today and yesterday and, eventually, tomorrow is opportunity," Beard said. "You get into this to play against the best and coach against the best. This is a great early conference game for us to see where we stack up against one of the best teams in the country."

TV: 9 p.m. ET, ESPN

LINE HISTORY: Kansas opened as 8.5-point home favorites and by Tuesday morning that number was bet down to -7. The total hit betting boards at 149 and has yet to move.

ABOUT TEXAS TECH (12-1 SU, 6-3 ATS, 3-6 O/U): The Red Raiders jumped out to a 40-19 halftime lead against Baylor en route to their largest margin of victory in the Big 12 since 2010-11. Senior guard Keenan Evans leads the team in scoring with 16.6 points per game, which is tied for sixth in the Big 12 and also leads the team with 22 3-pointers, 47 assists and 20 steals. Freshmen guards Zhaire Smith (10.7 points) and Jarrett Culver (10.4) also are averaging in double figures on a team that has 10 players averaging 13 or more minutes per game.

ABOUT KANSAS (11-2 SU, 8-4 ATS, 5-7 O/U): The Jayhawks, who are averaging 87.8 points per game and shooting 51.7 percent from the floor, are one of six teams in Division I that have five players averaging 10.6 points or better. Junior guard Lagerald Vick leads the team in scoring (17.4) and is second in rebounding (6.4) and had 21 points in the win at Texas, his sixth 20-point game of the season. Senior guards Devonte' Graham (17.2 points) and Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (16.6) also are off to hot starts while 7-foot sophomore center Udoka Azubuike (15.3) and sophomore guard Malik Newman (10.6), a highly touted transfer from Mississippi State, also are averaging in double figures.

TCU at Baylor (-1 ½, 149) – 7:00 PM EST – ESPNNEWS

Both these Texas squads suffered losses in their Big 12 openers over the weekend as they each seek their first conference win. The Horned Frogs (12-1 SU, 6-6 ATS) entered Saturday’s action as only one of three undefeated teams remaining in the country, but they lost in the final seconds to Oklahoma, 90-89 as 2 ½-point home favorites. Jamie Dixon’s squad has yet to play a true road game this season, as the Frogs compiled a 2-7 SU and 3-6 ATS record against conference foes away from Ft. Worth last season.

The Bears (10-3 SU, 3-3 ATS) suffered a 24-point setback at Texas Tech on Friday, 77-53 as 7 ½-point underdogs to snap a five-game winning streak. Baylor fell behind, 40-19 at halftime and never recovered as Scott Drew’s club shot 37% from the floor, including 3-of-12 from three-point range. The Bears own a solid 8-1 home record, although Baylor cleaned up on subpar competition with their only loss coming to a terrific Wichita State team.

Since 2013, Baylor has won 10 consecutive meetings with TCU, including a season sweep last season. The Horned Frogs struggled to score against the Bears by getting held to 53 and 52 points in the two defeats, as TCU has compiled a dreadful 1-9 ATS record in this stretch.

Butler at Xavier (-7, 154) – 7:00 PM EST – FS1

The Bulldogs (12-3 SU, 8-6 ATS) overcame a 20-point deficit to stun Georgetown in overtime of their Big East opener last week, but didn’t dig themselves a hole against top-ranked Villanova on Saturday.

Butler built a 23-point advantage before holding off Villanova, 101-93 to cash outright as 5 ½-point home underdogs. The Bulldogs shot lights out from three-point range (15-of-22), led by Kelan Martin’s 24 points and Paul Jorgensen’s 23 points. Butler has cashed the OVER in seven consecutive games, while topping the 90-point mark in four of the past six contests.

Xavier (14-1 SU, 11-4 ATS) edged DePaul on Saturday, 77-72 as 14-point favorites to improve to 2-0 in Big East play. The Musketeers erased an eight-point halftime lead and beat the Blue Demons in spite of shooting 42% from the field. Chris Mack’s club has yet to lose at the Cintas Center this season, going 10-0, including victories over Cincinnati and Baylor.

Last season, the road team won each meeting as Butler knocked off Xavier in Cincinnati, 88-79 as 2 ½-point away favorites in February. Butler has won six of its past seven road conference games since last January, while Xavier has struggled against the number recently in Big East play by going 4-13 ATS in the past 17 conference tilts.

Texas Tech at Kansas (-7, 149) – 9:00 PM EST – ESPN

The Red Raiders (12-1 SU, 6-3 ATS) are a force to be reckoned with in the Big 12 this season following a fast start. Texas Tech crushed Baylor in Lubbock on Friday, 77-53 as 7 ½-point favorites, as Keenan Evans led the Raiders with 18 points. Tech outrebounded Baylor, 36-17, while connecting on 50% of their shots from the floor. The key to reaching elite status in the Big 12 is winning on the road, as the Red Raiders posted a miserable 0-9 SU and 3-6 ATS mark away from Lubbock in conference play last season.

The Jayhawks (11-2 SU, 8-4 ATS) knocked off Texas in the Big 12 opener, 92-86 as four-point road favorites, as Devonte’ Graham paced KU with 23 points, including hitting six three-pointers. Amazingly, Kansas won its conference opener for the 27th straight season, while looking to extend its streak to 14 consecutive regular season Big 12 titles this season.

Bill Self’s squad has won 16 straight matchups with Texas Tech since getting surprised in Lubbock, 84-69 in March 2009. The Jayhawks captured eight of nine home conference games last season, but put together a 2-7 ATS mark as one of those two covers came against Texas Tech in a 17-point blowout.

Florida at Texas A&M (-2 ½, 143 ½) – 9:00 PM EST – ESPN2

The Gators (9-4 SU, 5-7 ATS) suffered several hiccups in non-conference play in December by losing consecutive home games to Florida State and Loyola-Illinois. Florida is currently on a three-game winning streak, capped off by a victory in its SEC opener over Vanderbilt on Saturday, 81-74, but the Gators failed to cash as 9 ½-point favorites. Mike White’s club jumped out to a 20-point halftime edge before the Commodores rallied for the cover.

The Aggies (11-2 SU, 5-5 ATS) were crushed in their conference opener on Saturday at Alabama, 79-57 to end a four-game winning streak. Texas A&M continues to play without star forward D.J. Hogg (14.6 ppg), who is serving a three-game suspension for a violation of team rules and will be out again tonight. The Aggies have won all seven home contests this season, although there weren’t any standout victories.

Florida knocked off Texas A&M in their lone matchup last season in Gainesville, 71-62 as 11 ½-point favorites, as the Gators seek their first win in College Station since 2013. The Aggies struggled at home against SEC foes last season by going 2-7 ATS, while the Gators put together an impressive 6-3 SU and 5-4 ATS mark away from Gainesville in SEC play.

Conference races heat up in this week in the AP Top 25
January 2, 2018

The last Saturday in 2017 took out the final three unbeaten teams.

The first week in 2018 could be a big early step in determining races in three conferences.

The week features six games between ranked teams, including four on Saturday.

Oklahoma has a tough week after moving up to No. 7, facing rival Oklahoma State on Wednesday, then heading to No. 6 West Virginia on Saturday.

The Sooners (11-1) have been on the rise since entering the Top 25 three weeks ago, generating a national buzz with freshman guard Trae Young having his way with whoever tries to guard him.

The Bedlam game is always difficult and the Sooners won't have it any easier against the Mountaineers (11-1), who have won 11 straight since an opening loss to Texas A&M.

Press Virginia against the nation's leader in scoring and assists? Bring it on.

Kansas (11-2) appears to be back on track for making a run at a 14th straight Big 12 title, moving up to No. 10 in this week's poll after beating Texas on Friday for its fourth straight win. The Jayhawks face a pair of big tests this week, starting with No. 18 Texas Tech on Tuesday.

Kansas then moves on to play at No. 16 TCU, which had its undefeated season end with a loss to Oklahoma last week. The Horned Frogs climbed up to No. 10 before the loss, the program's highest ranking, and face Baylor on Tuesday before hosting the Jayhawks.

''Our team, I think we're going to be really good by the end,'' Kansas coach Bill Self said. ''But I don't think that we're going to be close to what we can be until February and that's with everybody getting favorable outcomes.''

North Carolina (11-2) won't have an easy week, either, though there rarely is one in the ACC.

The No. 12 Tar Heels, who beat Wake Forest in their ACC opener, play at No. 24 Florida State on Wednesday and host No. 8 Virginia on Saturday.

''Once you get in the league they know more about you and know all your warts,'' Tar Heels coach Roy Williams said.

The final ranked-on-ranked game should be a good one: No. 17 Kentucky at No. 23 Tennessee on Saturday.

The Wildcats (11-2) responded from a loss to UCLA in New Orleans by dominating rival Louisville 90-61 and held off Georgia 66-61 on Saturday.

The Vols (9-3) lost an eight-point lead in the final four minutes and fell in overtime 95-93 to Arkansas on Saturday, but managed to remain in this week's poll. The Razorbacks (11-2) moved back into the poll for the first time since 2014-15 at No. 22 this week and play at Mississippi State on Tuesday.

TOP-RANKED SPARTANS

Michigan State (14-1) moved into to No. 1 spot in AP Top 25 for the first time since 2015-16 this week.

The Spartans were leapfrogged by the Wildcats when Duke lost to Boston College and spent three weeks at No. 2, but moved atop the poll after previously top-ranked Villanova's loss to Butler.

Michigan State plays at Maryland on Thursday and goes to Ohio State on Sunday.

CLEMSON RISING

Clemson has been in a six-year NCAA Tournament drought, but could be ready to end that.

With four players scoring in double figures, the Tigers (12-1) have proven they can be players in the ACC race this season. Clemson has victories over South Carolina and Florida on its resume, and opened conference play with a 78-62 victory over North Carolina State.

The Tigers, who have won eight straight, play at Boston College on Wednesday and host Louisville on Saturday.

CINCINNATI (AP) J.P. Macura scored 15 of his 20 points in the first half to get Xavier rolling, and Trevon Bluiett had 21 points as the fifth-ranked Musketeers won their 10th in a row, beating Butler 86-79 on Tuesday night.

The Musketeers (15-1, 3-0 Big East) matched their highest ranking in school history on Monday. A day later, they matched the best start in school history by getting up 14 points and holding on against the team that's pulled off the biggest upset so far in the conference.

Butler (12-4, 2-1) was coming off 101-93 win over then-No. 1 Villanova on Saturday. The Bulldogs were only 4 of 14 from beyond the arc in the first half, with Xavier leading 44-36. Kaiser Gates had a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer that pushed the lead to 66-52 midway through the second half.

Kamar Baldwin had 28 points for Butler and Kelan Martin added 25.

No. 18 TEXAS TECH 85, No. 10 KANSAS 73

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Keenan Evans scored 15 points, Norense Odiase and Justin Gray had 12 apiece, and Texas Tech never trailed in winning at Allen Fieldhouse or the first time in 18 tries.

The Red Raiders (13-1, 2-0 Big 12) built a 16-point lead midway through the first half, then found an answer every time the 3-point-dependent Jayhawks (11-3, 1-1) tried to mount a second-half charge.

Zach Smith had 11 points and Jarrett Culver contributed 10 for Texas Tech, which has won its first two Big 12 games for the first time in a decade. The Red Raiders also snapped a four-game skid in league road openers by winning their seventh straight game in the toughest of venues.

Devonte Graham led the Jayhawks with 27 points. They were 6 of 26 from beyond the arc and missed all 12 of their 3-point attempts in the second half.

FLORIDA 83, No. 11 TEXAS A&M 66

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Egor Koulechov scored 19 points and Keith Stone added 18 as Florida built a big lead early and cruised to victory.

The short-handed Aggies, who were playing without three starters, dropped their second straight game after starting the season 11-1 and rising to No. 5 in the poll. This was A&M's second straight lopsided loss after a 79-57 defeat at Alabama on Saturday.

The Gators (10-4, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) made 17 3-pointers, led by five from Koulechov and four from Stone to win their fourth straight game.

Texas A&M (11-3, 0-2) was led by Jay Jay Chandler's 17 points on a night the team was missing Admon Gilder, who missed his fourth straight game with a knee injury, and Duane Wilson who also sat out with a knee injury. Leading scorer D.J. Hogg, who is averaging 14.6 points a game, served the last game of a three-game suspension for an undisclosed team rules violation.

No. 16 TCU 81, BAYLOR 78, OT

WACO, Texas (AP) - Vladimir Brodziansky had 18 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime, as TCU bounced back from its first loss.

The Horned Frogs (13-1, 1-1 Big 12), after blowing a 12-point lead in the second half, went ahead to stay on Brodziansky's 3 from the top of the key with 1:29 left in overtime that made it 75-74.

Jo Lual-Acuil had 28 points and 11 rebounds for Baylor (10-4, 0-2), while Terry Maston had 20 points and nine rebounds.

MISSISSIPPI STATE 78, No. 22 ARKANSAS 75

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Nick Weatherspoon scored 22 points and his brother Quinndary Weatherspoon added another 22 for Mississippi State.

Mississippi State (13-1, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) built off its best start during non-conference play in years, rallying for the win after trailing for much of the second half.

Arkansas (11-3, 1-1) was playing its first game in the AP's national rankings since March 2015. The Razorbacks came in averaging more than 90 points per game, but Mississippi State slowed the pace and took a 32-28 lead into halftime.

Daryl Macon led Arkansas with 24 points while Daniel Gafford added 17.

AUBURN 94, No. 23 TENNESSEE 84

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Bryce Brown and Jared Harper each scored 18 points as Auburn erased an early 14-point deficit for its 11th straight victory.

By rallying in its Southeastern Conference opener, Auburn extended its longest winning streak since a 14-game run in 1999-2000. Auburn (13-1, 1-0 SEC) also ended a 10-game road skid in this series and beat Tennessee in Knoxville for the first time since a 74-69 triumph on Jan. 7, 1998.

Lamonte Turner had a carer-high 25 points for Tennessee (9-4, 0-2) has lost two straight games for the first time this season.

Armadillo: Wednesday's List of 13: Mid-week musings…….

13) Chuck Pagano lost his job Sunday, after six years of coaching the Colts. Pagano had leukemia back in 2012, but has beaten the disease and is healthy again, thankfully.

We watch NFL games every week and coaches get hired/fired and we really don’t know much about them, just what we see on Sundays/Mondays. But the coaches who get fired have families and lives and they’re people like us, just a lot wealthier.

Monday night, I saw a video of Pagano FaceTime-ing with a 21-year old leukemia patient who he did not know, just a kid who was fighting for his life, but he and coach Pagano talked for a minute and 55 seconds, about leukemia and medications and what food they could eat during their treatment. This was 2-3 years ago— the young man and coach Pagano have a mutual friend, which is why the call was made. The young man is healthy now, which is great news.

It is impossible to watch those 115 seconds without thinking that Chuck Pagano is a great freakin’ person, to help a kid he didn’t even know. He lost his job this week, but he’ll find another one, and even though he’ll never be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he’s a Hall of Fame person, and that is way more important.

12) U of Arizona fired football coach Rich Rodriguez Tuesday night, even after an investigation over sexual harassment was termed unfounded (Rodriguez voluntarily took a polygraph test and passed it). Rodriguez’ former administrative aide threatened to sue the school for $7.5M, but all that has gone away, but so has Rodriguez’ job.

11) In one episode of CSI, a gambler loses $53,000 on one hand on blackjack when the dealer pulls a 10-card blackjack; they said on the show that the record for most cards in a blackjack is 11 cards— imagine losing a hand that way? No bueno.

10) Titans-Chiefs playoff game is on ESPN Saturday, with Jon Gruden as color commentator, the same Jon Gruden who likely will be coach of the Oakland Raiders at this time next week. Raiders/Chiefs is obviously one of the NFL’s fiercest rivalries.

Now Gruden and Andy Reid are friends, from their days together as assistants in Green Bay, but that production meeting they’ll have Thursday or Friday will almost have to be odd— how much information you giving to a guy who will be your arch-rival starting next week?

9) Jon Gruden is 95-81 in 11 years as an NFL head coach, making playoffs five times. He won Super Bowl XXXVII with Tampa Bay, then missed playoffs in four of his last six seasons.

In other words, he’s not exactly Vince Lombardi.

8) Indianapolis Colts’ GM Chris Ballard was once a WR at Wisconsin; he didn’t play, but he has learned the sport well and is now an NFL GM. The Badgers’ QB while Ballard was at Wisconsin was current Seahawks’ OC Darrell Bevell, but there are people on Twitter who are adamant that Ballard wants Chiefs’ special teams coach Dave Toub to be the next coach in Indianapolis.

7) Green Bay Packers pushed GM Ted Thompson out of his job and gave coach Mike McCarthy a one-year contract extension.

6) Odd Fact of the Day: A pair of twins was born in Delano, CA this week; a boy was born just before midnight Sunday night, and his twin sister was born just after midnight, meaning the twins were actually born in different years. You don’t see that a lot.

5) West Virginia is getting F Asa Ahmad eligible to play for the January 13 game against Texas Tech. Big addition for the Mountaineers, who are 14-1 and rolling.

4) It bothers me that pro and college teams use “search firms” to find new coaches. For the love of God, I’m sitting in my living room and I could direct teams to solid candidates. For free.

Lot of times the search firm got the current decision-maker his job, so this is a case of paying back the people who got you your job.

If you’re an NFL or NBA GM and you don’t know who the best candidates are to be your new coach, then:
a) You probably shouldn’t be the GM of a pro team or
b) Maybe you shouldn’t have fired the guy you just fired.

3) Based on what I heard on the ESPN Film Room Monday night, Bret Bielema could be TV gold if he chooses to head in the direction. He has a great baritone voice, is sarcastic and appears to have a pretty good sense of humor- he cracked that he might have a career as an instant replay official after he called one review correctly Monday.

2) Auburn beat Alabama in the Iron Bowl; they split with Georgia, but Bama-Georgia will play for the college football national title, while Auburn lost their bowl game to an AAC team. That must be going over real well down on the Plains.

1) Alabama-Georgia in Atlanta’s new dome Monday night; its good to be a scalper, not so good to own a hotel in the Atlanta area— lot fewer out-of-towners coming in for the game.

Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Oklahoma Sooners

We've got a huge showdown in the Big 12 tonight between hated rivals as the Oklahoma State Cowboys visit Oklahoma to do battle with the Sooners.

This rivalry game did not turn out well for the Cowboys in football this season with Baker Mayfield and the Sooners winning by 10 at Oklahoma State, and while this is just the first of two meetings on the hardcourt this year, OK State would love to get one over on the Sooners tonight and then go for the season sweep at home later in the year.

It won't be easy though as Oklahoma as won nine in a row and come in as nearly a double-digit home favorite tonight.

Oklahoma (-9.5); Total set at 166.5

Both teams have played some great basketball on the whole this year as both programs have double-digit wins already, with Oklahoma sporting the better record at 11-1 SU. OK State isn't that far behind at 10-3 SU, but all those victories haven't equated to breaking the sportsbooks, as neither team has a winning record ATS.

Some inflated numbers against some cupcake opponents is largely responsible for that, but you can't help but wonder if tonight's spread is a little too high as well.

There is no denying the fact that the nine wins in a row Oklahoma has is quite impressive, especially since they opened up Big 12 play with a 90-89 win as +2.5 underdogs at TCU over the weekend. That win made the Sooners 2-0 SU and ATS as underdogs this year – they beat Wichita State 91-83 as +7 'dogs in mid-December – and the ranking committee has really started to take notice.

The Sooners are an offensive juggernaut in college basketball with 94.7 points scored per game, and with a 50.3% shooting average as a team from the field, you'd better be able to match the Sooners bucket for bucket if you want a chance to beat them.

There aren't many college teams that can score the way the Sooners do – largely because they don't have Trae Young and his scoring exploits like the Sooners do – but playing Oklahoma can also bump up your own scoring average as they give up plenty of points themselves.

In six of the Sooners last 10 games they've allowed 80 or more, and when you play that style of basketball and your offense has an “off-night,” you will likely be playing with fire when it comes to a point spread like this.

Oklahoma State has some scorers themselves as the team averages just under 80 points per game, but a 1-9 O/U record on the year tells me that this team prefers to hang their hat on their defensive play when they can. That defense hasn't been great with two straight games of allowing 80+, (chances are Oklahoma will make it three straight), but if OK State can get stops at critical points of the game and their offense can hang around, then this point spread is definitely too big for a rivalry game like this.

The Cowboys are on a 10-1 ATS run as a program in their last 11 away from home, and that includes a 9-1 ATS run when playing a team that's won at least 60% of their home games at the time.

Oklahoma is a perfect 6-0 SU at home this year so the latter certainly applies, and with three of the last four meetings between these two being decided by four points or less – including OK State winning both meetings last year - taking the points looks to be the way to go.

Oklahoma is just 3-11 ATS in their last 14 at home against a team that wins on the road, and with that run narrowing to 2-8 ATS at home when the Sooners opponent has won at least 60% of their road games like the Cowboys have, I'm grabbing the points and expecting another tight contest that goes down to the wire in this rivalry.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Trae Young fell one rebound short of a triple-double to help No. 7 Oklahoma defeat Oklahoma State 109-89 on Wednesday night.

Young, the nation's leader in scoring and assists, finished with 27 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds. In just his 13th career game, the freshman became the first Oklahoma player to score at least 20 points in 12 straight games.

Freshman forward Brady Manek scored a season-high 28 points and Kameron McGusty added 15 for Oklahoma (12-1, 2-0 Big 12), which won its 10th straight.

It was the first time Oklahoma scored at least 100 points against Oklahoma State since 1990. The Sooners, who entered the night leading the nation in scoring, shot 54 percent from the field to improve on their 94.7-point average.

Thomas Dziagwa scored a career-high 19 points and Jeffrey Carroll added 15 points and 10 rebounds for Oklahoma State (10-4, 0-2).

No. 8 VIRGINIA 78, VIRGINIA TECH 52

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - De'Andre Hunter scored 14 points and Virginia put the defensive clamps on Virginia Tech.

Ty Jerome and Kyle Guy added 13 points each and Devon Hall had 12 for the Cavaliers (13-1, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who ended a two-game losing streak in Cassell Coliseum.

Kerry Blackshear Jr. had 14 points to lead the Hokies (11-4, 0-2). Virginia Tech came into the game leading the nation in field goal percentage at .532 and among the leaders in 3-point percentage at .427, but they made only 17 of 47 shots and were just 2 of 12 from 3-point territory.

No. 24 FLORIDA STATE 81, No. 12 NORTH CAROLINA 80

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Braian Angola scored 20 points and C.J. Walker added 18 for Florida State.

The Seminoles (12-2, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) led most of the game but almost squandered it as they didn't make a field goal in the last 2:57 and missed their last four free throws.

They were up 81-77 on Angola's free throw before Joel Berry II made a 3-pointer off a turnover to bring the Tar Heels within 81-80 with 30 seconds remaining. After Phil Cofer missed both free throws, North Carolina (12-3, 1-1) had a chance to win. Berry drove the lane and missed a jumper which was rebounded by Terance Mann. Mann missed his free throws with 1.7 seconds remaining but North Carolina's last second desperation 3 was no good, allowing Florida State to snap a seven-game losing streak to the Tar Heels.

Mann added 17 points and nine rebounds as Florida State extended its home winning streak to 28, which is currently the third-longest in Division I.

Berry led the Tar Heels with 28 points and Williams added 18.

No. 13 PURDUE 82, RUTGERS 51

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Isaac Haas scored 14 points and Dakota Mathias finished with 13 for Purdue.

The Boilermakers (14-2, 3-0 Big Ten) have won 10 straight overall and 17 consecutive home games.

Geo Baker had 11 points to lead the Scarlet Knights (10-6, 0-3), who have lost three straight. Mike Williams added 10.

GEORGIA TECH 64, No. 15 MIAMI 54

ATLANTA (AP) - Josh Okogie scored a season-high 30 points and Jose Alvarado added 12 points for Georgia Tech.

Dewan Huell, with 13 points, was the only player to score in double figures for Miami (12-2, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference). Anthony Lawrence and Bruce Brown each had nine points as the Hurricanes snapped a two-game winning streak.

No. 17 KENTUCKY 74, LSU 71

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - P.J. Washington scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half for Kentucky.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander capped his 18-point night with two free throws with 16 seconds left, and Kevin Knox had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Wildcats (12-2, 2-0 Southeastern Conference), who survived their first true road test this season.

Duop Reath had 24 points and 11 rebounds for LSU (9-4, 0-1), which missed two 3-point attempts that could have tied it in the final seconds.

No. 25 CLEMSON 74, BOSTON COLLEGE 70

BOSTON (AP) - Donte Grantham scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and Marcquise Reed hit two key free throws for Clemson in its first game in the national rankings in nearly eight years.

Reed finished with 17 points for the Tigers (13-1, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference). Clemson's last time in the AP poll came on Jan. 23, 2010.

Jerome Robinson led Boston College (10-5, 1-2) with 28 points, scoring 26 in the second half. Ky Bowman had 19 with nine rebounds and six assists.
