LAS VEGAS (AP) Malik Monk scored a Kentucky freshman record 47 points and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 16.7 seconds left to lead the sixth-ranked Wildcats past No. 7 North Carolina 103-100 on Saturday in a thrilling showdown of traditional powers.

North Carolina's Justin Jackson nearly outshined Monk with 34 points, and his basket with 45 seconds left put the Tar Heels (10-2) ahead after trailing much of the second half.

Monk responded with a right-wing 3 in transition to put Kentucky up 101-100 after it led much of the second half. After Isaiah Hicks only hit the backboard at the other end, Kentucky's De'Aaron Fox hit two free throws with 1.9 seconds left.

North Carolina got the ball in the front court with less than a second left. But Kenny Williams' desperation 3 at the buzzer got lodged between the rim and backboard.

      No. 2 UCLA 86, OHIO STATE 73

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Aaron Holiday and Bryce Alford each scored 20 points as UCLA remained unbeaten.

Isaac Hamilton scored 17 points and T.J. Leaf added 13, including a steal and layup that sparked the decisive run for the Bruins (12-0). They continued their best start since being 14-0 in 2006-07.

After a sloppy, 12-turnover first half, UCLA led 44-40 when Leaf stole Micah Potter's pass under Ohio State's basket and scored over Potter. It started a 7-0 run that concluded with Leaf's 3-pointer with 16:53 left.

Alford's 3-pointer with 1:49 left put the Bruins up 81-71 and stopped Ohio State (8-3) from mounting a late comeback in the first game of the CBS Sports Classic.

Marc Loving scored 13 of his 19 points in the first half for the Buckeyes, who lost for the third time in five games.

      ---

      No. 3 KANSAS 89, DAVIDSON 71

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Josh Jackson and Frank Mason III scored 18 points apiece, helping Kansas overcome a sluggish, sloppy first half to beat Davidson at Sprint Center.

Svi Mykhailiuk also had 13 points for the Jayhawks (10-1), who extended their nation-leading home winning streak to 49 games. Kansas considered the matchup with the Wildcats (5-4) a home game even though it was played just down the road from its campus in Lawrence.

It was the Jayhawks' eighth straight win in the building, including the Big 12 Tournament last season and the CBE Classic a few weeks ago.

Peyton Aldridge hit five 3s and had 22 points to lead the Wildcats, while Jack Gibbs - the nation's fourth-leading scorer coming into the game - had 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

      ---

      No. 4 BAYLOR 82, JACKSON STATE 57

FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) - Al Freeman scored a season-high 19 points and made a career-best five 3-pointers and Baylor returned to Fort Hood with a victory over Jackson State.

It was the second straight year that the Bears played on the nation's largest Army post, about an hour's drive south of their Waco campus. Baylor is 10-0 for the first time since starting 17-0 in 2011-12.

There was a near-capacity crowd that included soldiers and their families at 2,400-seat Abrams Gym.

Edric Dennis scored 21 points for Jackson State (3-8).

      ---

      No. 18 BUTLER 83, No. 9 INDIANA 78

Butler (10-1) has won two straight overall and has upset the Hoosiers twice in the last three meetings.

James Blackmon Jr. led Indiana (8-2) with 26 points and Thomas Bryant had 15 points and seven rebounds as the Hoosiers cut an 11-point deficit with 8:10 left to play to 79-77 on Blackmon's 3-pointer with 38.7 seconds left.

The Bulldogs answered with Tyler Wideman's dunk off an inbounds pass with 15.6 seconds to go and Indiana never had a chance to tie the score or take the lead in the final 20 minutes. Indiana had won five straight.

      ---

      No. 11 LOUISVILLE 87, E. KENTUCKY 56

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Donovan Mitchell scored 15 points, Quentin Snider added 13 and Louisville used a 20-0 run to close the first half for its fifth straight victory.

Seeking a good tuneup for next week's rivalry game against No. 6 Kentucky, the Cardinals (10-1) shook off a sluggish start and 12-6 deficit to outscore EKU 30-4 the rest of the half and hold the Colonels scoreless for the final 7 minutes.

Louisville never looked back en route to its 14th championship in 15 years in the Billy Minardi Classic, named for the brother-in-law of Cardinals coach Rick Pitino.

Nick Mayo had 15 points and Asante Gist added 12 for the Colonels (6-6), who didn't reach 20 points until the 16:39 mark of the second half.

      ---

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Coach Bob Huggins earned his 800th win as West Virginia used a 37-4 first-half run to cruise to the victory.

Nathan Adrian led seven players in double figures for the Mountaineers (9-1) with 13 points.

LaVell Boyd led the Kangaroos (7-6) with 14 points.

Isaiah Still led Robert Morris (3-9) with 16 points.

      ---

The Gamecocks (9-1) rebounded from their only loss of the season while improving to 2-1 without leading scorer and rebounder Sindarius Thornwell, who has been suspended indefinitely for violating athletic department policy.

Duane Notice of the Gamecocks scored 14 of his 15 points in the second half after missing all eight shots he took before the break.

Jahmal McMurray led USF (5-4) with 25 points.

      ---

      No. 17 XAVIER 69, WAKE FOREST 65

CINCINNATI (AP) - Trevon Bluiett scored 20 points, including three free throws in the final 19 seconds, and Xavier held off Wake Forest.

The Musketeers (9-2) led most of the second half but didn't have the game in hand until Bluiett hit one of his two free throws with 2 seconds left. Wake Forest (8-3) missed a pair of 3-point shots that could have tied it before Bluiett got the rebound and was fouled.

Bryant Crawford scored 20 points for the Demon Deacons. They missed all of their 12 shots from beyond the arc in the second half.

      ---

      No. 19 ARIZONA 67, TEXAS A&M 63

HOUSTON (AP) - Dusan Ristic tied a season-high with 18 points and Arizona had to hold off a furious rally by Texas A&M for its fourth straight win.

      • Sunday’s six-pack

Six most popular picks in Week 15 of the Westgate SuperContest:

        6) Patriots (430) -3.5

        5) Lions (433) +4

        4) Ravens (456) -5.5

        3) Raiders (501) -3

        2) Buccaneers (593) +6.5

        1) Steelers (603) -3

        Sunday’s List of 13: Wrapping up a sports Saturday…….

        13) Kentucky 103, North Carolina 100— A GREAT advertisement for college basketball, just a tremendous game. Malik Monk had 47 for the Wildcats.

if the Final Four isn’t from this group: Villanova-UNC-Kentucky-UCLA-Duke, it will be a surprise, which means who the 4th #1 seed is will be critical, because the “5th #1” will be the 2-seed in that same region as the 4th #1.

        12) One of the cool things about college basketball is that during pre-conference play, you want teams in your league to win….seriously. It raises the platform of the whole league and could mean an extra bid to the NCAA tournament in March.

Kentucky beating North Carolina could help….say Texas A&M get a play-in spot over Virginia Tech. You never know.

Put it this way; San Diego State’s regression in the Mountain West hurts everyone in the league, especially potential bubble teams like Nevada.

        11) Over the last four years, Los Angeles Dodgers have shelled out $113M, just in luxury tax payments- they’re expected to be over the cap again this coming season.

        10) OK there is a Mercedes commercial where the young teenage boy bugs his dad to drive thru a snowstorm so he can meet his girlfriend at a movie theater. The father reluctantly does, and no one is there, but because it is TV, the girl shows up….in her parents’ Mercedes. The only two cars on the road. In a snowstorm.

Do these people not own cellphones? Do kids not text each other? Couldn’t they just watch movies at one of their houses, so one parent wouldn’t have to drive? Why does this bother me?

        9) You know how Boise State has a blue football field? Well, Eastern Washington has a red field; it doesn’t look bad on TV but who decided this was a good idea?

        8) Houston Rockets made 24-61 3-pointers Friday night, most 3’s ever taken/made in an NBA game. Just for the record, Phoenix Suns are 316-350 since they stupidly fired D’Antoni 8.5 years ago- they were 253-136 with D’Antoni as head coach.

        7) Highland Park HS won the Texas 5-A state championship Friday night; why do I mention this? QB for Highland Park is Jerry Jones’ grandson. Imagine their booster club has some serious cash.

        6) UCLA 86, Ohio State 73— Buckeyes did good job in first half of running offense, making possessions longer to keep UCLA from running, but then they didn’t in second half and Bruins pulled away. UCLA is great fun to watch because of freshman PG Lonzo Ball, who reminds lot of people of Jason Kidd— he gets the open guy the ball and UCLA has lot of kids who can put the ball in the basket, if they get it in the right place.

        5) Purdue 86, Notre Dame 81— Irish led by 14 at the half, but Boilers stormed back and got Matt Painter a big win. Dick Vitale’s daughters went to Notre Dame, so if ESPN puts him on a ND game, they’re begging me to change the channel— it is intolerable to listen to him.

        4) Phillies gave CF Odubel Herrera $30.5M for five years; he hit .286 with 15 HRs for the Phils last summer. Herrera is the first player Philly has under contract for 2018, which is next season. For a big market team to have such roster flexibility is interesting.

By the way, the word processing program on my MacBook Pro has an annoying auto-correct that changes Odubel to double every time I type it. Every time.

        3) Lane Kiffin’s move to Florida Atlantic means that Steve Sarkisian is the new OC at Alabama, once the Crimson Tide’s season is over. Good to see Sarkisian get a second chance in life; hope he makes the most of it.

        2) Brandon Shell, the Jets’ right tackle this week, is nephew of the great Art Shell, the Raiders’ Hall of Famer. If he is anything like his uncle, young Shell is a keeper.

        1) West Virginia coach Bob Huggins won his 800th game Saturday, just 10th college coach to do so. He looks gruff on TV but I’ve met him twice and he’s a pretty normal guy to talk to, and when he was sitting in the lobby at an AAU tournament in Las Vegas in July of ‘15, a ton of people came up to talk to him. His teams are fun to watch. Congrats coach.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Nigel Williams-Goss scored 20 points, and No. 8 Gonzaga remained undefeated by holding off Tennessee 86-76 on Sunday.

Gonzaga (11-0) hadn't played since Dec. 10 and looked strong as the Bulldogs scored the first eight points and never trailed. They led 27-6 on a jumper by Zach Collins with 12:06 left, 43-29 at halftime and 64-48 midway through the second half.

Tennessee (6-5) went on a 10-3 run and got to 75-71 on a jumper by Robert Hubbs III with 2:26 left.

Josh Perkins then hit a jumper as Gonzaga held on for its fourth straight win in the five games between these teams.

This was billed as the Battle of Broadway played at Bridgestone Arena, so technically it was a neutral court - except for all the fans wearing Tennessee orange in the seats.

Perkins finished with 15 points, and Jordan Mathews added 13 for Gonzaga. Detrick Mostella led Tennessee with 17 points.

                      NO. 4 BAYLOR 107, JOHN BROWN 53

WACO, Texas (AP) - Johnathan Motley had 20 points and nine rebounds in No. 4 Baylor's victory over overmatched NAIA school John Brown.

The Bears (11-0) shot 59 percent from the floor despite missing their first five shots, dominated on the boards by a 51-15 margin and forced 18 turnovers that turned into 19 points on the other end.

Al Freeman added 16 points for Baylor (11-0), Jo Lual-Acuil and Wendell Mitchell had 11 apiece, and Terry Maston finished with 10. Josh Bowling led the Golden Eagles (9-5) with 14 points.

Giants are 8-1 in last nine games, now head on road to Philly/Washington to end season. Last eight Detroit games stayed under the total, as have last six Giant games.

Steelers 24, Bengals 20— Bengals led 20-6 wth 2:51 left in first half, but Steelers kicked FG’s on five consecutive drives, then finally scored TD and won/covered fifth game in row, with four of those wins on road- they’ve now won seven of last eight games with Cincinnati. Favorites are 8-1 vs spread in AFC North divisional games this season.

Ravens 27, Eagles 26— Eagles scored TD with 0:04 left, went for two points and the win, a play I just disagree with, especially on road with a rookie QB who had just run for a TD. Tennessee did it, failed but wound up winning anyway. Philly has now lost nine of last ten games after a 3-0 start; they’re 1-7 on road. Ravens won its last five home games (4-1 vs spread).

Every TV announcer “loves the aggressive nature of going for two” in that spot. Without fail, they cover the coach’s butt by saying that, but I disagree. Let your entire team decide the game.

Packers 30, Bears 27— Green Bay blew a 27-10 4th quarter lead, but Rodgers hit Jordy Nelson with a 60-yard bomb to set up the GW field goal with 0:03 left. Packers have now won last seven games in Chicago, but Bears have to like what they see out of 3rd-string QB Barkley.

if Dallas wins Sunday night, Packers are tied with Tampa Bay for last Wild Card slot.

Colts 34, Vikings 6— Stunning no-show by Minnesota that basically ends their season; game was 27-nil at the half. I spent 50 Sunday afternoons watching Sam Bradford play for the Rams, so I’m not totally surprised by all this, and the Norv Turner resignation should’ve raised the red flag about as high as it can go, that there were big problems with this team.

Bills 33, Browns 13— Worst thing for the Browns is that they still have zero idea who their QB is as they move towards 2017. Cleveland is 2-12 vs spread; ’08 Lions went 0-16, but were 7-9 against spread. In its last four games, Cleveland was outscored 65-9 in first half. Buffalo is 7-1 if they allow 21 or less points, 0-6 if they allow more. Over is 11-2 in Buffalo’s last 13 games.

Titans 19, Chiefs 17— Chiefs led 14-0 after 10:31 of play but lost. Kansas City had the ball with 3:12 left up 17-16 and Tennessee had no timeouts left (other than 2:00 warning), but Chiefs couldn’t get a first down and lost 19-17 at home for the second time in five weeks (Bucs were other loss). Tennessee has now won four of last five games; they went for two-point conversion and the lead with 3:12 left, down 17-16 and won despite not getting it.

Texans 21, Jaguars 20— Houston benched Brock Osweiler after his second INT; he has $37M in guaranteed money coming his way. Bill O’Brien coached this game like he was getting fired if Houston misses the playoffs— Tom Savage may have saved O’Brien’s butt by leading this comeback that makes the Texans 6-1 at home this season. Jaguars lost their ninth game in a row; they fired coach Gus Bradley after the game- at least he’ll get to spend Christmas with his family.

Saints 48, Cardinals 41— 20 possessions in this game; 11 TD’s, three FG’s tried, not a lot of defense played. Cardinals have now allowed 30.9 pts/game their last seven games, giving up 22 TD’s on opponents’ last 72 drives. NFC South non-divisional road underdogs are 10-2 vs spread this season. Except for Seattle, NFC West has been a dumpster fire in 2016.

Falcons 41, 49ers 13— First three times they had the ball, Atlanta ran 22 plays for 157 yards and a quick 21-nil lead— Falcons coasted the rest of the way, running ball for 248 yards, throwing for 302. 49ers haven’t won since Week 1; they allowed 12.6 yards/pass attempt in this game. In their last three games, Niners have been outscored 52-0 in second half. I’m going to spend Christmas Eve in a sportsbook watching Rams-49ers; Feliz Navidad. Over is 12-2 in Falcon games this season.

Patriots 16, Broncos 3— In their last three games, Denver has two offensive TDs on 35 drives; we’re going to find out this winter how patient John Elway is. Will he go after Tony Romo and try to jumpstart his offense for 2017? Patriots won for just second time in last eight visits here. Under is 8-3 in last 11 Denver games, 4-1 in last five Patriot games.

Raiders 19, Chargers 16— Two years ago, Oakland went 3-13 with rookie Derek Carr at QB; things have improved for him. Oakland is 6-1 in true road games this year; they’re 8-1 in games decided by 7 or less points, thanks in large part to a +15 turnover ratio. San Diego is 1-7 in games decided by 7 or less points; their TO ratio is -6. There is a very fine line between winning and losing in the NFL.

Cowboys 26, Buccaneers 20— Prescott went 32-36/280 in this highly entertaining game; putting to rest any potential QB controversy. Jameis Winston is going to be really good; this was his first game in the brightest of NFL spotlights. Bucs’ 5-game win streak is snapped. Packer fans were rooting like hell for Dallas, Giant fans were rooting for Tampa Bay

                          • Preview: Bulldogs (7-3) at Seminoles (11-1)
                            Date: December 19, 2016 2:00 PM EDT

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- No. 23 Florida State will bring a seven-game win streak into Monday's rare afternoon game against Samford.

The Seminoles have gotten there with depth, defense and a deluge of scorers.

Just as expected when the season began, sophomore guard Dwayne Bacon -- a potential 2017 NBA Draft lottery pick -- leads the team with an average of 17.2 points per game. He has reached double figures in 21 straight games and has the ability to take over when the Seminoles (11-1) need it most.

With Florida State leading a three-win Manhattan team by just five points at halftime on Saturday, Bacon stormed out of the locker room with eight quick points to set the stage for another win.

Complementing Bacon is heralded freshman forward Jonathan Isaac, who at 6 feet 10 brings a Kevin Durant-esque style of play that opponents are having a world of trouble containing. He's averaging almost a double-double so far this year at 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Isaac scored in double figures in his first eight games of his college career before missing time with a hip injury.

After that? There's no shortage of Seminoles who are also contributing to the fast start as 13 players are currently averaging double-figure minutes.

In addition to Bacon and Isaac, seven other Florida State players are averaging six points or more, led by guards Xavier Rathan-Mayes (9.8 ppg) and Terance Mann (9.6 ppg).

Add in stifling defense -- the Seminoles are holding opponents to 68 points per game and averaging almost 10 steals and six blocks -- and it's easy to see why Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton is enjoying his best start since the 2003-04 season.

"We're still learning and we're still growing," Hamilton said. "But the great thing about this team is our potential. We've not reached that yet."

The next game will be another chance to grow. Samford, winner of four straight, comes in at 7-3, and Hamilton told the Tallahassee Democrat on Sunday that the Bulldogs have his team's attention.

"They're a very good basketball team," Hamilton told the paper. "They've got three Division I transfers. Two guys shooting over 50 percent from 3, two guys shooting 39, 38 percent from three, a guy who's had several double-doubles.

"There's no question that they have our attention. We won-t be sleep-walking, I can guarantee you that."

One reason Florida State can't relent is Samford sophomore center Wyatt Walker.

Walker heads into Monday's game ranked second in the nation with eight double-doubles this season and is seventh in the country in rebounds per game (11.6) and No. 8 in total rebounds (116). Walker is also ranked 11th in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (8.0).

Walker isn't even one of the three Division I transfers that worries Hamilton.

In the offseason, Samford added former Ole Miss senior forward Terry Brutus, former UMass guard Demetrius Denzel-Dyson and one-time Auburn forward Alex Thompson.

"I think these guys take the talent level of the team up a notch, first of all," Samford coach Scott Padgett said. "Then, if you look at their size, strength and length, it's another level than what we've had. They are all three guys who will help us in different ways this season."

The series history between the teams is pretty lopsided.

Samford has never defeated Florida State, going 0-11 in the series. The Bulldogs and Seminoles first met Jan. 20, 1950, with Florida State winning 59-58 at home. The most recent meeting between the teams was Dec. 2, 2007, when Florida State won 61-45 in Tallahassee.

                            • Preview: Leathernecks (3-7) at Boilermakers (9-2)
                              Date: December 19, 2016 6:00 PM EDT

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- While the reference points are very different, No. 15 Purdue and Western Illinois head into Monday night's game in Mackey Arena feeling good about themselves.

The Boilermakers (9-2) rallied from a 17-point, first-half deficit on Saturday in Indianapolis' Bankers Life Fieldhouse to defeat No. 21 Notre Dame 86-81, getting 26 points and 10 rebounds from Caleb Swanigan and 20 points and 10 rebounds off the bench from Vince Edwards.

It was Purdue's first victory against Notre Dame since the 1965-66 season, and it was the Boilermakers' first victory against a Top 25 nonconference opponent since defeating then No. 24 St. Mary's (Calif.) in the 2012 NCAA tournament in Omaha, Neb.

Western Illinois (3-7) got 15 points and nine rebounds from Brandon Gilbeck and 14 points and 14 rebounds from Mike Miklusak on Saturday in a 75-59 victory at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, snapping a four-game losing streak.

Purdue, which has won four in a row since a loss at 2013 NCAA champion Louisville, played excellent defense in the second half in rallying to beat Notre Dame, outscoring the Fighting Irish 48-29 in the final 20 minutes.

It was the Boilermakers' largest comeback victory since erasing an 18-point deficit against St. John's in Madison Square Garden on Nov. 27, 1998 -- 18 years ago.

"Team defense is a lot easier for us when we just talk to each other," Edwards said. "I don't feel like I am where I want to be defensively. I am working toward being back to an all-around type of guy. I didn't have the start to the season that I wanted, but it's still a long season."

Edwards (11.6 points and 5.2 rebounds) was the difference-maker against Notre Dame and hopes to fill that role again against Western Illinois.

"Against Notre Dame, I was just trying to light a spark," Edwards said. "We always knew we were a capable team. The performance against Notre Dame speaks for itself."

And according to coach Matt Painter, Edwards' recent effort since losing his starting job also speaks for itself.

"We need to have Vince Edwards on the floor," Painter said. "Vince probably was the key to the Notre Dame game. Swanigan had huge numbers, but to have a guy come in and have that kind of energy and get offensive rebounds like Vince did is great.

"Vince was driving the basketball and passing the basketball. He is just a good all-around player. He has been very good the last four games, and each game has been different. One game, he had eight assists, and the next game he had 18 points on only a handful of shots."

For Western Illinois coach Billy Wright, continued big numbers from Gilbeck and Miklusak would be nice.

"Saturday's win reassures what we have been working on since summer and fall workouts," Wright said. "It all came together against Milwaukee.

"Now, we move on to (Purdue), and the key thing we talked about in the summer was consistency and sustainability. We just need to be consistent and sustain."

Purdue center Isaac Haas (14 points and five rebounds a game) said the Boilermakers are a confident team heading into their final two nonconference games -- Norfolk State comes to Purdue on Wednesday night -- before opening Big Ten play on Dec. 28 against Iowa.

"Beating Notre Dame shows that we can go into a neutral site or an away site and win," Haas said. "It improves your resume. Louisville and Villanova are good teams, and so is Notre Dame. Against Louisville, I didn't feel like we had the focus that we needed to win."

Swanigan, whose 16.8 points and 11.1 rebounds leads Purdue, warns his teammates to stay focused this week against two opponents the Boilermakers should beat.

"We can't drop one of these next two," Swanigan said. "We need to keep the ball rolling on into the Iowa game."

Purdue continues to play without fifth-year graduate transfer reserve point guard Spike Albrecht, who is receiving treatment for lower back pain. Painter said Albrecht is out indefinitely.

                              • Preview: Tigers (8-2) at Blue Devils (10-1)
                                Date: December 19, 2016 7:00 PM EDT

DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke reached this segment of the season with the notion that it will be a recharged team.

                                And perhaps reloading as well.

The fifth-ranked Blue Devils have been idle for more than a week for final exams but return to action Monday night against Tennessee State.

This has been one of the potential targeted dates for the debut of heralded forward Harry Giles, the most coveted recruit in the freshman class. He has been out since a surgical procedure in September, with the Blue Devils willing to bring him along at a conservative pace.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski said mid-December was a logical time to consider that Giles might be ready for game action.

Duke (10-1) has won eight games in a row but hasn't played since demolishing UNLV 94-55 on Dec. 10.

Junior guard Grayson Allen scored a career-high 34 points in the game against UNLV, a rather premature outburst in some respects because he has been dealing with an array of ailments.

"I think over the exam period is a time where, and then maybe Christmas, where we can get him closer to 100 percent and then hopefully work these guys in a little bit," Krzyzewski said.

Freshman Jayson Tatum has averaged 15 points and seven rebounds in the three games he has played for the Blue Devils since a preseason foot injury. Post player Marques Bolden also has played in three games in a more limited capacity.

"Everyone has to be able to contribute and help us, but right now I think we can smile a little bit and be happy that we got some of our guys back," Duke forward Amile Jefferson said.

Sophomore guard Luke Kennard leads Duke in scoring at 20 points per game.

As more players become available, it will be a juggling act of sorts as Krzyzewski has two games remaining before the Atlantic Coast Conference schedule kicks in.

"We've got to keep finding minutes for these guys," Krzyzewski said. "We've got to put this thing together while we're playing games."

This game marks Duke's only home outing during a five-game stretch. This is the last nonconference home as the Blue Devils try to tack one more on their NCAA-best 131 home out-of-conference winning streak.

This is the third of four road games this month for Tennessee State (8-2).

Tigers coach Dana Ford said it's obvious Duke has a special operation.

"I think they are the best team in America," Ford said. " ... Everything is first class. They're champions. You don't even have to know people inside the program to tell what you are dealing with."

Tennessee State is off to an 8-2 start for the second season in a row. However, the Tigers are winless in nine previous meetings against teams in the ACC.

That includes a 67-55 overtime loss on Dec. 10 at North Carolina State. Since then, the Tigers whipped Alabama State 68-46, allowing only 13 first-half points.

This will be the first meeting between Tennessee State and Duke. The Tigers are 1-33 all time against Top 25 opponents in Division I.

"We'll try to put together the best game plan available to give our guys the best chance to go out there and win the next game," Ford said. "We are just very appreciative, our entire university, our program and our alums, that we are going to have the opportunity to play at Cameron Indoor Stadium against a first-class program."
