You put it perfectly Spark. He is a sick human being. That's the bigger issue here. Yes he did his time, but that doesn't get down to the point that this is a sick and disturbed human being with little regard for life. Serial killers tend to start with animals. Hey, I went to VT and got to see him do things in college that I'd only seen guys like Barry Sanders do previously. But as a dog lover, what he did is beyond despicable and I have no desire to hear his name associated with the Hokies anymore much like I'm sure many Falcons fans feel about him. He has a right to work again, but this is almost like allowing someone out of a mental institution that isn't quite 'cured'. I think that is what bothers me most...

I personally voted no suspension. Not because I like Vick or necessarily think he doesnt deserve one. But according to our system once someone is tried convicted sentenced and released they have no debt left to pay to society. However if the NFL should decide that Vick must be suspended because he violated some league policy then they can take that to court between the player's union and the league.

Personally I would hate for someone to say..."Sorry you just got out of jail but I dont think we can employ you because we dont feel your debt has been paid in full". That would be pretty heinous.

Joe, I disagree but respect your opinion. What he did was terribly wrong. What really bothers me is two other NFL stars killed other humans while driving under the influence. One just a few weeks ago. Where's the outrage? ESPN donated about 5 minutes on the Stallworth DUI homicide. I'm a dog lover and proud owner of 2 dogs and a cat. That being said it's an absolute disgrace there's more outrage about dogs than another human. IMO the excuse that dogs are defenseless is feeble at best. Leonard Little snuffed out the life of a mother and wife. A DUI victim is as defenseless as a dog.

Frank, Like you I do respect your opinion ... and trust me those DUI accidents were tragic ... Horrible ... they should have been punished to the full extent of the law ... But no one intended to kill anyone ... I understand that when you drink and drive you are taking a chance of killing someone ...but when it happens it is an accident ... that is why it is called a DUI accident ... they did not torture, beat and electrocute another living thing ... What this slime ball did was no accident ... it was totally intentional ... all for Greed of the Green .. and to me, that is what makes the difference ...
