Barry Sanders holds the NFL record for the most carries for negative yardage.

If I want to put on a show, then I'll take Barry. Otherwise I'll take any of the other 7.

I COULDNT AGREE MORE WITH THIS STATEMENT!!! VERY INTELLIGENT STATEMENT and always my gripe with Barry. The Nfl is a second and 6 third and 2 league... barry constantly gave the lions a second and 13 and so on... I would take all the other backs b4 taking barry!!!!

Babe Ruth also had more strikeouts than anyone too and that does not minimize his production.

I also think Barry had to try and create to compensate for a weak o-line and with that creation comes some losses. It is not like at 5'8" it was going to be 4 yards and a cloud of dust. I think back to him and i can honestly never really remember seeing anyone standing him up with a devastating tackle. Not many clean hits on that man.

Too bad his career was soo short, but Earl Campbell sure was one hell of a back. He could knock you over then run away from you..I know he hurt my Steel Curtain a few times....

                    two ton!!!

always respect your opinion as you add a lot to the site. But Babe Ruth is not even close to the all time strikeout king. As a matter of fact Reggie Jackson has K'd 2600 times compared to 1300 for the Babe...
anyways I know Barry wasnt 4 yds. and a cloud of dust... but I will take a guy who falls forward for positive yards... catches passes out of the backfield... and demands more out of his teammates than barry did...
to me he left his teammates, coaching staff, and organization out in the cold much like ricky williams did...

I think you have to look at these players in there era. I never saw Jim Brown play. I couldn't tell you if he was good or not. I gotta go on what people say, and stats, same with Sayers. Simpson was on the down as far as I remember. E.D. N.O. Lack of toughness imo. I would rate M. Allen over E.D.

LT is the new generation he's going to be one of the best (easy to say now LOL). Payton and Sanders have to be 1 and 1A imo. The best RB's that I have ever seen.

                      M. Jordan is THE best I have ever seen in any sport he brought it every game, and that is what Payton did, and I love those kind of guys that is why I voted him #1. Post Payton no doubt it's Sanders over E. Smith.

I don't respect him at all. Sanders would have killed the record. Emmitt hung around for the record, the game had already passed him by. Farve is doing the samething. I don't respect that.

I think LT will be the best of all time. Barry Sanders was great in limited time, but come one people Bo Jackson was better on talent alone.

                            Bo Jackson was UNBELIEVEABLE!!

I was actually a big fan of the Raiders when he was there just because of him. He was truly the greatest All Around athlete i have seen in my lifetime. He was a All Star in the 2 biggest sports in this country! Think about that. MLB and NFL and he was one of the best in each during his time.

                            Damn injuries!

But you can respect a guy who averaged 64 yards/game in the playoffs with 1 TD and who quit on his teammates because he didn't feel like playing football any more?
