anyways I know Barry wasnt 4 yds. and a cloud of dust... but I will take a guy who falls forward for positive yards... catches passes out of the backfield... and demands more out of his teammates than barry did...
to me he left his teammates, coaching staff, and organization out in the cold much like ricky williams did...
My point was that Babe Ruth struck out many times.....but he is not known for that....also i am terrible at stats

How did Barry let his teammates down like someone who used drugs? he simply retired on his own terms......If he continues and can not walk like many ex RB's they do not suffer...only Barry...

This is a team game yes....but it is played by individuals who are responsible for their own decisions of when to stop playing....

Did Tiki turn his back on the Giants? Did Jim Brown turn his back on the Browns? NO way.....every man walks away when he decides to....regardless.....So many do not know when to walk away and limp away.....or have 1 too many concussions.

I respect every mans decision to make to leave any job or any team at anytime. How you can compare that to someone who fails drug test after drug test i do not understand.

There were many great backs and i just think Barry did the most with the least for a long time.

Didn't Jim Brown retire early? Didn't Robert Smith (Minn RB) retire early? M. Jordan retired and didn't come back to play Basketball, he went on to play Baseball. Did he quit on his team? Why do these guy's get a pass? Why doesn't anyone say Jim Brown quit on his team? If a player want's to retire for whatever the reason that is up to the player, not me and you. It's the ones that hang on over their time for the records, those are the players I have a problem with.

Walter Payton did more with less then just about anyone else....and you can argue Sanders in there as well.

But Payton was a better all around back then Sanders was IMO.
