CINCINNATI to Win Even(111)
PITTSBURGH (F LIRIANO) vs CINCINNATI (R IGLESIAS)

The Reds have one piece of pitching gold they seem to have panned from this massive roster dump experiment. The Cuban import has fanned ten or more in each of his last four starts and looks to be a solid #2 starter in the Reds rotation next season. He has a 1.93 ERA in his last four starts, though he has yet to collect a win. I think that’ll change tonight. History tells us the Reds will touch up Liriano for a few early runs, and I like Iglesias to continue to get better and better as he acclimates to the major leagues.

Buchanan is making his eleventh start of the season. His last ten being absolute train wrecks. His worst stuff came in his most recent starts completing his last three outings with a 14.54 ERA and 2.46 WHIP, along with a 4.57 OBA. He is therefore allowing more than 2 runners on base per inning. The “bright” spot in his season has been the 7.24 ERA he has posted at home. If the Braves can’t hit Buchanan they truly are hopeless. Both teams have been playing towards the OVER this season. The Phillies are 75-52 to the OVER while the Braves are 72-58 to the OVER. There should be some runs with these two on the mound.

NY METS to Win Even(-104)
NY METS (J DEGROM) vs WASHINGTON (S STRASBURG)

De Grom hasn’t been great in his last three outings overall but his season body of work is phenomenal and his recent road performances have been admirable. He has allowed two or less runs in five of his last seven outings and is 4-0 with a 2.77 ERA overall. I like him to pitch well tonight if for no other reason than the overall moxie and looseness the Mets are playing with right now. They are playing fearless baseball while the Nats continue to pucker and crush under the weight of unmet expectations
