Predators activate Fisher from IR

Nashville Predators center Mike Fisher, who underwent surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon in July, was activated from injured reserve Thursday.

Fisher, 34, was expected to be in the Predators' lineup for the NHL's lone Thanksgiving game, against the Edmonton Oilers.

He returns midway between the four- to six-month estimate given when he had the operation July 3.
