44% is the minority. One question for ya. Of that 44% how much will be paying for there health care in forms of higher taxes? Prolly very few.

This whole issue is a joke and a scam and a huge attempt at a govt grab to control its citizens.

I'll do the math for you once again.

approx 300 million ppl live in the United states.

of that 300 million approx 40million are uninsured.

of that 40million aprrox 20 million are illegals(meaning they get nothing they deserve nothing)

so that makes 20 million ppl w/o health insurance that are legal US citizens.

of that 20 million who are left....... there are 10million who could afford health insurance but elect not to purchase it.

so that leaves approx 10million ppl with no health insurance.

Do you realize what % 10,000,000 is of 300,000,000 ????

it is less than 4% of our population.

so change the best health care system in the entire world for less than 4% of the people. Yeah that makes. Not trying to sound harsh but the truth is, when you actually break it down its laughable that ppl think our system needs to be run by govt.

well honestly i was just making an example.

It has been spoken and written and documented that around 40million "people" are w/o health care currently in the united states. You can look it up.

We all also agree that there are approximately 20million illegals in the united states.

so with thee above being stated you start the math process 40-20= 20million.

of the 20million you have 8-10 million who are between the ages of 18-35 who work or can afford health insurance but simply elect not to take it. Why you ask??? Because they can. We live in a free country......for now anyhow.

Republicans senators began arguing for a change in the senate rules, so that a simple majority could bring the nominations to a vote. the proposed change in the venerable Senate procedures was so great that the proposal was nicknamed the nuclear option. for his part, Bush implicity endorsed the change in his State of the Union address, insisting, to huge applause in the chamber, "Every judicail nominee deserves an up or down vote." At the last minute, though, with the Senate at the nuclear brink, a compromise put off the conflagration, at least for the time being. a bipartisan group of 14 moderate Senators, meeting in Sen McCains office on May, 23 2005 brokered a deal where some of Bush's long delayed nominees (like Owen) would finally get their up and down votes, thus getting confirmed. In return, the Pubs said they would not use the Nuclear Option again-which they did a few months later. So, as you can see, when it comes to conservative issues it seems the GOP doesn't mind using reconciliation. They act like its never been done before, gues they didn't count on people having a memory.
