  • Do you know who Robert Creamer is ??

    8/31/2005

CHICAGO (AP) — The husband of an Illinois congresswoman pleaded guilty Wednesday to tax violations and bank fraud for writing rubber checks and failing to collect withholding tax from an employee.

Robert Creamer, a political consultant married to four-term U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky, could face four years in prison on the two felony counts when he is sentenced Dec. 21.

"In my heart, I know that these mistakes do not define or diminish this good man, or the good work that he has done over the last 40 years or that he will do in the future," Schakowsky, D-Ill., said after her husband's court hearing.

While this guy was in prison, he wrote a book. Not a childrens book or just an ordinary book, but a book called : Stand Up Straight: How Progressives Can Win which left-wingers say has inspired them in their fight to turn America into socialist Europe.

He’s a disciple of the Marxist founder of community organizing, Saul Alinsky.

Creamer founded the radical group Illinois Public Action and this makes him a hero to the left, whose members don’t care that he wrote a series of bad checks to pay his salary and meet other financial demands.

His wife acknowledged in a speech that the Democrats’ ”public option will put the private insurance industry out of business and lead to single-payer.”

She said she was gratified that her husband “has for his entire adult life devoted himself to fighting for a better future for others – he has been a constant crusader for social and economic justice in this country and beyond.”

You have all heard of the 2 crashers at the White House a few weeks ago. Well, what they didnt say was that this guy was there too.

Now what would a convicted felon be doing at a White House function ??

The Chicago Tribune reported (April 6, 2006) that more than 200 people provided letters of support to the court on Creamer’s behalf, including U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), former EPA administrator Carol Browner, White House political advisor David Axelrod, and Rev. Jesse Jackson.

How about some reviews on his book:

David Axelrod described Creamer’s book as a “blueprint” for future progressive victories.

In order to impose socialist healthcare on an unwilling nation, it is necessary, according to the book to

          • Create a national consensus that health care is a right

          • Create a national consensus that the health care system is in crisis

          • Convince political leaders that they owe their elections to the groundswell of support for universal health care face peril if they fail to deliver on health care in 2009

          • Need not agree in advance on the components of the plan, but foster a process that can ultimately yield consensus

          • Focus especially on the mobilization of the labor movement and the faith community

          • Generate emotion: fear, revulsion, anger, disgust

In a March 19 session entitled, “Health Care: The Politics of Winning,” ex-convict Creamer and husband of Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), laid out his vision for health care reform. Of Creamer’s 10-point plan, number 5 is:

To have a movement that both deals with that fact [that health care reform should be personal] and creates a movement we have to have two elements. In a lot of campaigns we run are either about a populist kind of message and feel because it’s about people’s pocketbooks and needs directly. Or it has a moral dimension that is inspirational and empowering – the civil rights movement, for instance.

This movement needs to have both. To have a movement, to mobilize people, to inspire people, you have to appeal to their sense of meaning and purpose and something important. So we have to create a sense that this is a historic battle. This is about you’re being part of something that will make you meaningful. (emphasis added)

If there is a legitimate crisis, does the “sense” really need to be “created?” Or are Creamer, Healthcare for America Now, SEIU, ACORN and others creating a problem to suit meet their ends? Then he talked about the campaign and how to defeat their opponents.

We have to spend a lot of time particularly now, in this next year, going after our principle adversary here: the private insurance industry. … We need to reduce the credibility of the private insurance industry as, I mean, let’s be honest, right? Twenty five percent of America’s health care costs go to administration and advertising. … This is a political campaign. We need to bring down the positives and bring up the negatives of our opponents. And the private insurance industry is our opponent in this battle. (emphasis added)

In analyzing the defeat of HillaryCare in 1993, Creamer identified then opponents then and ways to make them allies now. He specifically mentioned major businesses with huge legacy costs (ie. General Motors), small businesses, and the American Medical Association.

To win any major social change in America that restructures a sixth of the economy, we need some Republican support. We need it in Congress and we certainly need it in the population. Now, that doesn’t mean we say we have to negotiate with these guys, it means, you know, we want the train to be as long as possible, we just want the progressive vision to be in the engine here. So we’ve got to beat the crap out of the Susan – well, if Susan Collins loses, that’s wonderful – but some of the swing votes in the Senate in particular to get them with the program. So part of our targeting has to be not just on holding Democrats with us, although that’s a problem for us, it’s also – we gotta have some of those Republicans. (emphasis added)

Creamer then suggested that liberals need to devise ways to draw conservatives into the debate.

We need to really go at their alternative but we need to establish that they have an alternative. We need to establish as the political dialog, “everyone agrees there’s a health care crisis in America. Here’s our plan, here’s their plan. Now your only alternatives, public, are to choose one of the two, not the status quo.

Using language similar to SEIU president Andy Stern, Creamer articulated what is at stake:

If we get the presidency, we must deliver. And if we do, we will create the investment of huge numbers of Americans in a revitalized commitment to the importance of the public sector and the progressive vision for the future.

                          Dont worry about it flare.

The truth hurts them so they have to turn onto something else. I'm sure they know what number that is in the Alinsky playbook.

Then they will question your education. Your spelling. Your answers.

Yet, when posts are made of very important government issues such as this, healthcare, employment, etc. you will never get answers. You will only get that what you wrote is not good enough for them and that you have to continue until they are satisfied.

I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.

Wow, I wonder why you guys hate obama

Wow do you label people who are anti-President Obama as racists? Can't someone be against his policies and positions without being a racist? And I've read all of your responses about "where were these people when President Bush, blah, blah, blah", but couldn't you oppose Presidnet Bush and his policies without being racist?
