    Obama on Palin

Politico's Carrie Budoff Brown reports: At a press avail in Monroe, Mich., Barack Obama on Palin: "Back off these kinds of stories."

"I have said before and I will repeat again: People's families are off limits," Obama said. "And people's children are especially off-limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. You know my mother had me when she was 18 and how a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn’t be a topic of our politics."
On charges that his campaign has stoked the story via liberal blogs:

"I am offended by that statement. There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us," he said. "Our people were not involved in any way in this, and they will not be. And if I thought there was somebody in my campaign who was involved in something like that, they would be fired."
Wow.....Honesty and integrity from a political candidate. Who would have thought???

Every kid has problems as they grow, I suppose you were perfect. Nice of the Lib media to attack a 17 year old girl and open her up to the world. Thats because they do not want the people to focus on Obamas thin resume and connections to people like Rev Wright, Ayers, Rezko etc.
I personally feel that in this day and age with an overpopulation problem, having 5 children is too many too have and is a bit selfish-I would say the same if Obama had 5 kids.
Watch the youtubes-she has accomplished nothing relevant to the world problems and lacks experience to deal with it big time.
ps You didn't answer my question as to how you rate the Bush Administration on a scale of 1-10.

For once we agree on politics. You could tell by the tone of his voice that he meant what he said about families being off-limits.I for one have to tip my hat to him and am glad to see someone not using the dirty stuff to make himself look better.

            • September 2, 2008 Odds on Palin Shorten Bookmakers in the U.K. and Ireland are liking Sarah Palin's chances for staying on the GOP ticket a lot less today. Odds that Palin have to step down as vice presidential nominee have narrowed to 8-1, down from 20-1. The new lines were posted by Paddy Power and William Hill PLC, while Ladbrokes spokesman David William told Bloomberg, "Ever since he appointed her, people have stopped betting on McCain. He went down like a sack of potatoes as far as the punters are concerned." Current odds on Barack Obama's being the eventual victor are 4-9, compared to McCain's 13-8. According to a University of North Carolina study, betting markets have been wrong in picking the next president only twice in the last 100 years.

I don't have a problem with her having five kids or her kid getting pregnant at age 17.

However, I do think she is NOT qualified to be the VP of this country and I really don't feel she's qualified to be the president. And there is a decent chance that might happen if McCain wins. Just think about her qualifications and that should be a determining factor as to whether you believe she was the RIGHT choice....

I agree that 5 is alot of children but if you can support them without welfare and food stamps than have as many as you want. It's the ones who have 4 and 5 kids that the government has to support that needs to stop or monitor how many children they have.

I would talk about it if I were Obama especially since she went on to tell us about how wonderful her son is going to Iraq.
She wouldn't get away with Phil Ste ele tactics(talking about only the good stuff) with me.
I think it is deplorable that this supposedly morally upright woman with supposedly traditional values would try to turn her unwed 17 year old daughter's pregnancy into a positive-makes me want to puke!

I agree-in this case it would be better to keep this unqualified nothing on the ticket to ensure that Obama/Biden get elected.

I want t hear her speak at the convention and maybe in a debate before I decide for or against her.I will say as a republican I was shocked that he picked her. They have something up there sleave. This pregnancy might have been it.Evangelicals are coming out of the woodwork to support her for having the child and women who might have gone thru the same thing might feel sorry for her.How many parents in the U.S. have gone thru what they are going thru now.I would say enough to make up a couple percent of the votes McCain is down.

I disagree-overpopulation is a problem of the world, and no matter how rich or poor you are, two kids should be the limit.
