I highly doubt that after his co defendants were sentenced to 18 and 21 months which I poseted a bit ago, there was any way that Vick was going to do less then them. With the sentence of 21 months, I think Vick was lucky to have gotten 23 months after the lying, being the money man and the failed drug test.

A judge would weigh what kind of value Vick places on life in general. Obviously, he has little feelings towards it if he's capable of strangling or hanging an animal.....23 months was fair.

Kaz, the same could be said for abortion doctors who punch holes in the heads of innocent babies and suck their brains out.

In this country, abortion is legal. Hanging a dog and torturing it for monetary gain is not. Sorry, but that's the law....

You're right. We're in a war, so let's not enforce laws!

and whats that???? what brainwashed media outlet has gotten to you? i think the Vick Sentence was a little harsh, I think they gave him the top guideline was b/c he hasn't taken responsibility

I love how you turn everything into a media brainwashing. Keep watching/listening to Rush, he's not brainwashing you at all. The media presents both sides to a story, Rush and other pundit's like him, present only one side. Their side!

The 'media' has been all over Vick for this. Just like they were when the Clinton issues came up. There's no brainwashing. All of the stories have had fair reporting on this.

                    Top 10 Athletes?

People have been abusing animals way too long and been getting off way too light for too long.

Amen brother. About time someone of a higher stature can be made the example here. Hopefully he can do some snitching along the line to get more of these operations shut down.

                        Oh Well

Dont Feel Sorry For Vick He Broke The Law. But Frank Said It Best. A Recent Dog Ring Here Was Shut Down And The Guy Running It Got 6 Months With Time Served And Walked Away.

I Believe Drunk Drivers And Drug Users Are Far More Dangerous Because They Could Take Human Life. Some These Clowns Dont Even Get Jail Time.

But He Fucked Himself Because He Is (was) The Face Of A Franchise And Black. The Example Will Always Be Made Of Someone Like Vick.

Regardless No Dog Fighting Ring He Would Still Be Playing.

Personally, I think he was made more of an example of because of his star status then his race. He was sentenced within the guidleines so I don't think it was excessive. Plus the writing was on the wall when his co-criminals got 18 and 21 months. NO way Vick was going to serve less. Tack on the lies and drug test results, and boom, 23 months.

And I agree 100% about the drunk drivers and drug users. But who's going to run on a "lock em all up" campaign?

Agreed. They needed to put a 'face' on dogfighting and make it someone big to set an example. Whether it was someone white or black that makes no difference. PETA has been waiting for a day like this for years.

Keep in mind also that he may have gotten off lighter somewhere else. Hudson dishes out extremely harsh sentences, and was none too pleased that Vick had been misleading about the involvement he had early on.

I think originally he was looking at 5 years. So he was already cut a break.

He got a break with his high priced Lawyers. He financed the whole damn dog ring along with the illegal gambling. His 2 buddies get 18 and 21 months, but he only got 23 months.

Average Joe blow would have gotten way less though. However, when your a well known public figure like Vick he got what he deserved. And hopefully he will get more.
