Listen punk ass.....I NEVER said what Vick did was right. You clueless fucking moron. What he did was abominable. Is that word too big for you? Get a dictionary dipshit. I said do not blame the media for everything that happens in this country. Most of all the reputable media give fair and opposing opinions on any given topic. Just like this Vick story ESPN did was only one of many that were dead against him. Just because you read something on an opinion page, doesn't mean that's their take on it. You have NO CLUE if that's what you think. Just sit on your porch in Arkansas and play your banjo you fucking ignorant inbred. You're just another clueless Limbaugh clone....The media was all over the Clinton story from day one. And brought up tons of other women he had relations with. If they wanted to, they could have buried it. The media was investigating him as much if not more than any prosecutor did. That was my point. Jesus, are you that stupid?
And what does "They are totally from the real!" mean? Is that something your sister/wife taught you?
By the way ignoramus. There is no such thing as reverse racism. Racism is racism, no matter what color you are. But I'm sure a little racist Arkansas pig like yourself believes that all whites are supreme beings....

Sorry Wayne and Monte. That wasn't directed to all the people of Arkansas. I have friends there and one of the best presidents we've ever had is from there.
I just saw his avatar had an Arkansas player in it and figured that's where he's at. He comes at me and fires name calling and I lose my cool.
I was fine debating this with Rocko in a civilized manner as you can see, and then I'm told to F off by an uninformed individual who needed to turn to name calling to get his point accross. I don't respect that nor do I respect racist people.
Sorry for losing it....I apologize to anyone who is from Arkansas and I know the 'one' you are referring to Wayne. LOL

Personally ... I think we disect everything WAAAAY too much at times. I hate how the race card is used every time a prominent figure is accused of something. It drives me crazy to be honest. This is a big story because of the stature of the accused and the crime at hand. I don't think the color means much. At least it doesn't to me. Hell, when something happens to a white guy i never hear racism. Why not?
I think white guys are covered by the media just as much as a guy of a different race/color when they do something wrong or stupid. We had to hear about Tony Larussa falling asleep at a red light for about 2 weeks. It is just overkill no matter who it is (IMO).
When i sit here and think of the 4 major sports and college as well. I try to think off hand at the arrests and crimes by athletes. I'll be honest in saying alot of things come to mind. When trying to remember bad things that athletes have done, i can quickly name several black guys and things they have done like Jayson Williams, Rae Carruth, Ron Artest, OJ Simpson, Mike Vick, Pacman Jones, Ray Lewis, Tank Johnson, Mike Tyson and many others. When i think of white athletes who have been in the headlines for similiar crimes ... I honestly struggle to think of any/many. Most are like LaRussa or like Mark Chmura or guys like Brett Myers. Most of the white guys i can think of either did things to themself or things that didn't cause as much death and destruction.
I highly doubt that white athletes are doing the things that the colored athletes above have done and it's just not reported. If they were doing it, we would know.
I by no means consider myself a racist but why can't i think of more things that the white athlete have done wrong when it comes so easily for me to name the black ones? Is it selective memory on my part? My head profiling the black man?? Or is it just the way it is and the black athletes DO put themselves in a bad place way more often than the white one???
I don't want to offend anyone here but i think alot of people who think the way they do about blacks comes from the "Thug" persona the black athletes bring on themselves seemingly 5 times as often as the white athlete does. I don't know, maybe there are 5 times as many black athletes as white in sports and that would explain it but i don't think so???
O.K. i'm done.Last edited by wayne1218; 09-28-2007, 09:33 AM.

I agree Wayne. There are more black athletes who are in trouble with the law than white athletes. I don't think it's profiling, I think that's a fact. Yes there are probably a lot more black athletes in at least two major sports. Football and basketball, so those numbers may be skewed a bit.
However, without getting too deeply involved here philosophically, take a look at where most black athletes come from. More often than not, they are from low income, high crime rate areas. Not all, but certainly a good portion. Playing sports may be their only way out and most would probably be in jail if they hadn't been athletically gifted. Basketball players? Inner cities. Football player? The same as well. It's hard for them to make it out and when they do, they don't know how to act or what to do with their fame and fortune. Should we blame them? Possibly. Possibly not.
Black kids are not given the same opportunities as many white kids. That's just a fact. Most white kids are brought up in affluent neighborhoods and parents who can afford good schooling.
The goal is to try and educate these kids but that is becoming harder and harder with cuts in educational programing for inner city youths. Not all are lumped into this category, but certainly a lot are. Is it fair to say that when these kids parents are struggling to put food on the table or have literally nothing and only crime and street knowledge to educate them, that they are wrong for become this criminally minded athlete? My point is, sometimes they don't know better, aren't educated well enough and are playing sports as a way out of that life of crime. 'WE' put them on that pedestal then beat them down when when they fall. I 'm not making excuses for all black athletes, but I would bet that most of the black athletes who get into trouble, can be placed back to their parents or upbringing or lack of it. And what cards they are dealt socially.
I find what Vick did as highly offensive. I think he should be set as an example and pay a stiff penalty. I'm not sure however if that is going to resonate to all black athletes.

The fact that 2 guys (Clinton Portis & Terrell Owens) came out and said dogfigting was not a big deal ... Just adds to the negativity towards the black athlete. I feel like they constantly do or say stupid shit that continues to keep the spotlight and profile on them.
