RJ, I am sorry I couldn't stick around and discuss this with you this afternoon, I had a meeting. But I want you to know that the concern over you gambling over the last couple weeks, or posting plays has little to do with this. You are learning a way of life, and it is "baby steps" brother. Your life will certainly change, but as the book tells you, your not perfect. Only one person was, so there will obviously be struggles and times where you fall. Don't let anyone concentrate on what you have or have not done. It is not important, not at all. What is important is that you identify that you have found "good news", few people get to that point. But now that you have been introduced to it, and basically have claimed it as "life changing" your focus needs to continue to be on what you have found. This afternoon I told you how happy I was for you and that you had the "courage" to ask the question. Simply because I knew that some would jump on this and take it another direction. Point is you know who and what to listen to. People will always question and have something to say about that which they do not know or understand. But you know your heart, so I encourage you to follow that and not worry about the words of others. I, personally Thank You for sharing what you have found. It amazes me that so many guys (like myself) bought the book and didn't or havn't read it. I bought it and did not read it for about 3 months. But once I did...............WOW!! It truly is life changing! The things that used to be real important to you won't be, and they will be replaced with better things. As far as whether you posted or even gambled, I can assure you that IS NOT what is important here. Whats important is that your life is changing, and grasp every bit of that book, because its GREAT stuff. If I can ever help please let me know!!
Capping games is something I just enjoy. I'm pretty sure I've only posted plays once in the past 2-3 weeks. I didn't take those games in real life, but did post because a couple people asked me too.
The book doesn't say "DON'T GAMBLE", it just shows you what's important in life and what isn't. I'm not saying I'll never place another wager in my life, but I just don't let it consume me at all, like it did a little bit before. That's all. Sorry you're confused by it.
I agree with you on this issue.
My new wife is deeply religious (Evangelical Christian), and we recently had a discussion about gambling.
What she said is that gambling per se is not bad and is not forbidden by her religion.
However, she did say that if one loses too much or gambles beyond his/her means and most importantly is so consumed in it that it takes precious time away from his/her spouse or children, then it is something which must stop.
The issue isn't whether you gamble or not. The issue is what part it takes in your life? Do you "worship" gambling? You are so right Savage. When it becomes so important that other things lose their priority, well then it becomes an issue. It is true gambling per se is not bad. I am a christian, and I have struggled with gamblings place in my life. I still do, but I love sports, I love to put a little something on the games. But I think that RJ is finding a new way of life through Warrens book, and that is a GREAT thing. Each person has to deal with the gambling issue within themselves, and that sometimes can be tough. But I still go back to the fact that the issue is not whether you gamble or not, it is where your heart is.

Sooner,
Everything you wrote here is so true. I also knew I would get a little feedback both negative and positive, but here's how I look at it: If I can help just 1 person out because they took my advice and go buy this book and read it, then I feel like I have accomplished something. You're right, there will always be those who want to try and "take this in another direction" as you say.........and that's fine, they're entitled to do that.
I just wanted to share something that has really opened my eyes and truely changed my life in SO many ways I can't even begin to count.
As I said, I'm sure I'll place a wager at some point in the future, but as for now, it's not even on my top 100 list of things that are important.
Thanks for sharing with me, please get my email so we can talk more.
