RJ, First of all I am very HAPPY to hear first that you read the book, second that you had the courage to ask others if they have. I have read the book, Yes I get it and the beauty of the book is summed up in the first line of the book "Its not about you....." and it, as you know having read the book, NOT. Great book, great way of life.......I try to live it everyday! Its only by his grace that I come remotely close. You can contact me anytime and I would love to talk to you about it. There are also some great books by CS Lewis that are along the same lines. Would love to discuss it with you, and am THANKFUL to hear you have discovered it! Actually, made my day. Thanks for sharing!!

FINALLY!!!!!!!! Yes, you are right, it is a great way of life. And once others here read this book, they will be leaving feedback just like you are right now. I have gotten my mother & father, my female friend, and my girlfriend is re-reading it with me.

It makes my day as well to know that I can turn other people to reading this because honestly it has changed my life. Things that I thought were important before are so unimportant right now......

These guys joke in this thread, but if they were on the same page we were, they wouldn't. I don't want to be too serious because I know everyone jokes around a lot, but everyone has their serious thoughts in their own way, and I am just offering something to everyone that can really help you out in times when maybe you're not at your "BEST"

                    RJ and Sooner,

So now that u have read this book, what impact does it have on your gambling? (Serious question and u2 understand the question since you have read the book!)

Well, I'm only half way through the book. It takes you 40 days to read it, 1 chapter a day. Like I said each chapter is only 4-5 pages long.

And i'm not sure if you've noticed or not, but i haven't posted in about 2 weeks. I think I did maybe once. I haven't placed a bet in real life in about 3 weeks. Honest truth.

Well, truth told, if this book truly has the impact on your life you say it has, your answer was a given :-) I guess next to go is the avatar! :-)

                            Mike,

                            You posted plays Sunday???

Are you just playing on "Paper"?

I just don't understand. If the book is changing your life not to gamble or post, why have or would you cap games and post?

It doesn't honestly make any sense. I see you here all the time and you have posted plays SEVERAL days in the last couple weeks. It just contradicts everything you said and confuses the hell out of me and i'm sure many others reading that.

                              Wayne,

Capping games is something I just enjoy. I'm pretty sure I've only posted plays once in the past 2-3 weeks. I didn't take those games in real life, but did post because a couple people asked me too.

The book doesn't say "DON'T GAMBLE", it just shows you what's important in life and what isn't. I'm not saying I'll never place another wager in my life, but I just don't let it consume me at all, like it did a little bit before. That's all. Sorry you're confused by it.
