Personally, i used to lose my ass and could never figure out why because i always played quite a few games. The reason? I used to stare at lines and "Think" about the teams and what i've seen when watching them play. One minute later i either liked a side or i didn't. The problem i ran into was the "Naked Eye" and "Emotions" i ran into while gambling. Most wager using the naked eye and feel they have seen enough of teams "To Know". The facts are that Vegas was built that way and there is no doubt, those are the gamblers that they are looking for. I used to hate certain teams (Duke) and love others (UNC, Red Sox, Pats), and i know that affected my wagers. Now, the team name DOESN'T MATTER to me at all. People call me crazy or ask how i can bet against my teams when i do (Like yesterday with NC State). I tell them my heart will be cheering for my Heels and my wallet will be cheering for the Wolfpack. It's very easy to do for me now.
You and kb are a perfect example. You both live in different parts of the country and you each feel like you "Know" the team you are defending (Vermont/Kansas St) is the right choice. You both have used the "Naked Eye" on what you've seen locally all year and you think you're right. I could pick a side from what i think and argue it too but when it comes down to wagering and posting a play, i'm going to look at team A & B on paper and go with what it spits out.
I guess i'm just saying that if you give each game equal time while capping and you know there is a winner in every one, it is hard to ignore one side over another sometimes.
I'm not saying anyone "Caps" a certain way by any means. I'm just saying ... "That's how i do it"!
