Just came home from the doctor and he thinks it might be cartilage damage in between the toe joints now. It still hurt like a bastard. He had my feet formed for a special shoe and i'm out until they come in (2 more weeks). After that, i see if they help. If not, the knife will have to be used!
That sucks, disregard my question in the other thread asking about this. What did you do, drop a case of beer on your foot

Believe it or not, i jumped out of a truck and landed wrong on it. Fucked it up good. He might have to fuse the toes together because the joint and cartilage damage can't really be fixed easily. The best option may be to make all the toes like the bad one and it will relieve the stress.

All i know is i get to enjoy March Madness still!
Thanks for asking John!
Wayne Very sorry to hear that your foot is in that bad of a condition. I do not agree on the toes becoming similar to the bad one. This is not going to give you the relief you are looking for- I believe. Because of the weight that you will place upon it- it will only worsened gradually.
Please consider all options before doing this procedure. 4 wrongs (shouldn't have the big toe involved!) don't make a right! Good Luck Buddy!

That sounds horrible, get plenty of opinions on what to do.
Stephen, They are calling that a "Last Resort". He thinks it was broken and putting pressure on the foot was crushing the joint behind the 4th toe which he thinks formed arthritis. They are making me a 2nd and different set of inserts hoping if they lift my arch it will relieve the pressure in that area. If it doesn't work, who knows from there. I've seen 3 different specialists so far with 3 different opinions!
