That's a very good question. I think that the resources that Hendrick has, i.e. money, engineering people, research and development teams, testing, can not be duplicated. They are by far and away the richest team out there. They have more employees than any other team out there to do all these things as well. For instance, if DEI were to lease these engines from Hendrick and were to break down the components of these engines, it would hurt the company elsewhere. They just don't have enough employees to do it, or the money to spend on doing it. A lot of these other companies that lease these engines don't have the chassis dyno machines that cost huge amounts of money so it's cheaper in the long run to just lease these out than to try and duplicate them. Hendrick is by far the best of the best out there and no matter what you do to try and keep up, they will always be ahead of you. What Rick Hendrick has done is impressive to say the least and he will continue to set the standard to live up to in Nascar.Originally posted by BillMill71Explain that though. Multiple teams run Hendrick engines and/or chassis. Once teams have these why don't they just analyze the design components and determine what makes them superior and then just produce on their own. It would seem once a team releases their product widespread they should just be able to duplicate the successful design. And since there are "rules" about the control limits one can use to modify design, it should be easy to improve to max limitations.

Hendrick's uses this formula .... x(t) = r cos(t) + j y(t) = r sin(t) + k
All other teams uses this one .... r2 - 2cr cos( - ) + c2 = a2
Hope this helps you.

Rockies and Rangers got drilled, then lost Marlins by 2, A's and Indians both by 1. Oh well, it happens, I'm going to pick myself up, dust myself off, and keep digging

Good Luck Buddy ..
