IT WAS LAKE CITY GA CLASS OF 92 FOR ME VOLS FAN GOT HELD BACK A COUPLE YEARS BUT I THINK HE MADE IT IN THE 90'S MAYBE 98-99

The only thing that will make me hate him again is if he spins out JR on the last lap of the Daytona 500 this year

Nice. Its always great when you meet someone famous with your kids.

We met Matt Kuchar at Orlando Airport and his old man was yelling at him to get going but he took the time for a photo with us and to also give the kids a few autos. good guy

                      A few for me...

1996 & 1997 Dallas Cowboys - I was an intern both summers working at Valley Ranch and the summer camp site in Austin. We got to get to know most of the players well and I made a lot of extra $....

Mike Singletary & Michael Johnson (the sprinter) many times while working at Baylor.

Too many for me to list, but one that was cool was catching HOF pitcher and three time Cy Young award winner Tom Seaver when he was throwing for the Whitesox and then Redsox. Caught him twice.

When his mom was ill, he needed someone to catch him between starts. He grew up in my dad's shoe shop, so he called him and asked him if he knew of anyone. My dad called me, and I went out to his mom's house and caught him. He bruised the hell out of my hand.

I was a pitcher in high school and he and I threw for an hour. At the end, my arm was rubber and I couldn't get the ball back to him. Kept short hopping him. We were throwing from catcher to outfield type distance.

One of the nicest guys around. He was a pall bearer at my father's funeral....I believe he still holds the most votes for the Hall Of Fame than any other player. I thought Clemens would pass him, but I think we all know that won't happen. Seaver received 98.8% of the votes.....

2 I can think of of the top of my head, a few years ago I went to a football coaches clinic {beerfest} at the University of Illinois and a guy I was with was buddys with 1 of Ron Zooks buddys and Zook came with him and met us at Hooters, and was at our table for about an hour{he drank about 6 beers, and bought the whole time he was at our table}. Last year went to NCAA basketball tourney in Denver and stayed at the Marrriot and met the president of the NCAA Miles Brand at the hotel bar the first night we were there, he wasnt to talkative was with his wife and another couple.
1 more I just thought of is a Joe Rutgens, he played for Univ of IL football back in the day, then was drafted by the Washington Redskins and was named 1 of the 50 greatest Redskins of all time, he lives in my hometown and hangs out at the 1 of the same bars that I do, really nice guy. PS his knees are shot

I was fortunate to be a police officer for 13.5 years. For all of the events I was able to go back stage and hang out with the celebs, or I would get the detail at the Hotel they were staying at.

Here is the group of celebs I met or hung out with in Thibodaux ...

Aaron Neville - Shy, but very nice. He's from New Orleans and it confused me why he was shy.
Alan Jackson - Tall, down to earth, good conversation with funny stories.
Leonard Skynard - Wild bunch of whiskey drinkers - lol - but true. Their after part with the women was kick ass!!!
The Ghetto Boys - Scarface, Willie D, and Bushwick Bill (the short dude) - Hard core gangsta's, but a fun-wild group to hang with. More wild women too.
Toby Keith - Long story with this guy, but he came through town when he was just starting out. Played at a local club. He offered me a job with security on his tour cause he liked the fact that I was a sharpshooter master and had a red laser on my pistol. If I only knew what I know now, I would have taken that job that night. Oh, and the women at this after party!!!! Toby had one of his managers give me a key to one of the rooms he had blocked off. Getting paid to play .... What a night!!!!

I went to English Turn one year (1989?) for the PGA golf tournament and got a few autographs during the practice round ...

                              Jack Nicholas - very cool
Tom Kite (when he was still wearing those big ass glasses)
Greg Norman - kinda an asshole
Chip Beck - gave me a sleeve of titleist

The movie Fletch Lives was filmed in downtown Thibodaux. My dad was a bailiff in the court room that the film crew used as a staging area, so I watched all of the filming from there. I got Chevy Chase's autograph and got to hang around him a few days. Back then, the guy never seemed serious. He was always joking around with everyone.

And WCW Nitro came to town and I hung out with a few wrestling stars ...

Bill Goldberg (he fought Meng that night and Meng broke his collarbone. Extra security had to go to the hospital cause people wanted to see Meng.)
                              Eddie Guerrero
                              Rick Steiner
                              Rey Mysterio Jr.
All of these guys were super cool and spoke to everyone like they were not superstars. Just normal people like you and I, except they get stopped all the time for autographs everywhere they go.
Chris Benoit - I didn't speak to him, but I saw him backstage.

I met and hung out with most of the New Orleans Saints back when their training camp was in Thibodaux, about a mile from my house. And no guys, I didn't smoke any weed with Ricky Williams ... Remember, I was a cop and could have gotten drug tested at any time. LOL

I played a golf scramble with Archy Manning (Payton and Eli's dad) for the City of Thibodaux in an Entergy tournament.

I also met Payton and Eli Manning. They come to Thibodaux every year and put on a football clinic for the kids at Nicholls State University. These guys have a huge heart and love giving back to Louisiana.

                              OK, that's about it. LOL
