How about TV remotes, or before cable was out. We had like 4 channels and you had to get up to change the damn channel.

Then with the VCR (beta) and you got the remote with the cheesy wire, and whoever got the thing was like the Master of the Universe!!

I remember when we had a Zenith TV with wireless remote ... the coolest thing ever ... you could change channels one way, but then again there were only 5 channels and you could volume up on the remote ... when you pushed the button the remote would make a noise that the TV would pick up and change channels or change volume ...
