Couple of years ago, I think it was 3-4 yrs ago, I remember Seattle game in NFL. They were getting +3 points and they were losing by 5. On the last second of the game, really, the last second of the 4th quarter, they go for it! They go for the flicking field goal!!! After they make the field goal to cover, the game ends and the commentators were questioning on why Seattle would kick a field goal and they said, some one lost lots of money on this game. I still don't know the reason and don't think the games are fixed but makes you wonder???

Wasn't Cincy or Ohio college basketball fixed? Didn't someone write a book about it? I remember some mob came out and the players came out saying they did. :uzi:

You are comparing apples with oranges.

The documented case having nothing to do with today's high paid athletes.

The black sox were paid peanuts. They were fucked by the owner.

You college example are all cases of unpaid athletes that are taken advantage of by the NCAA. All documented cases involved baskets. Not football.

Boxing has always been fixed. I also think it is fixed today. In boxing you only have to pay off 2 athletes.

The only possibility for NFL games to be fixed is by the refs. Even still I believe they are heavily scrutinized.

                      • All I have to say is , u damn right some games are fixed. Im not saying that all games are, but the ones where big money is riding on one side, u know someones pulling the strings in the background. I've been watching and betting football for a long time as well, and throughout the years, there have been some obvious ones where you would have to be an idiot to not see. I won on the dallas game as well, so im not complaining, its nice to be on the winning side of a fix. How the hell did Terry get so damned wide open when they doubled him all game. and who the hell was mcnabb throwing too. His guy didn;t turn around, not even once. Im just calling it like i see it. I know some games are rigged and with the right information, Its easy to pick a winner. Now Coming up with the right information is the hard part. Thats why i continue to bet. Just a side note, it seems as though the sunday night and monday night games are the most proned to these weird occurences where teams all the sudden forget how to play.

Even then there were no guarantees of the game coming through. The infamous Boston College point shaving scandal saw the gamblers go 6-3, so fixing a game is obviously harder than it might sound.
