The Yankees are supposedly at 153 million right now without Cano and Kuroda so that leaves 36 mill for those 2 and whoever else they try and get for next year to stay under the 189.Elsbury got 11 mil more than Crawford and its been a few years since that contract so with inflation and of course if he stays healthy I would rather have him than crawford.

Everything I've read shows the Yankees at $139 million right now and that only includes 10 players signed. I see 5 more arbitration eligible that projects at around another $15 million bringing it to $154 million ... for 15 players. That means they would have to sign 10 players to fill out the roster with only 35 million to spend on them. They have offered $15 million to Kuroda and it still doesn't include the Cano or Tanaka deals. They could open up another $25 million if arod is suspended for the season. Either way, it is pretty hard to believe they can sign those 3 guys and fill out the rest of the roster while staying under the luxury tax.

Stupid fucking move… I mean yeah… He will be good for the next 4 years, but 7 is wayyyy to long for a 38 year old OF. Brian Cashman did say he would like to remain under the luxury tax but it's not a must… I seriously hope they have $300million payroll and still dont make the playoffs..i would laugh my ass off. Yankee games are not fun to watch anymore.. It's become more of a business to them… It doesn't matter cause they are still getting people to come to the games and buy merchandise.. They still make the most money out of every team in the MLB. These bloated contracts have ruined it and i'm sadly slipping away from the baseball game as time goes on. I can't believe i'm saying this… but, i have become a nascar fan and went to my 1st race in homestead this year… Freakin amazing! So, right now….fuck baseball! And if i do decide to root for a team, it will be the marlins or some shit like that.

Fuck no. You would think the Yankees would have learned after ARoid. See how many bases he is stealing when he is in the last 2-3 years of the contract.
On the other hand, I am proud that BC stood his ground within the current and successful philosophy of the team and didn't match/exceed the Yankee also.
Think of it-22 million a year for Jacoby and 13 million a year for Pedroia-something would be WAY amiss if BC had signed him.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some kind if unwritten agreement between Cano and his agent and the Yankees which says that when Cano is all through shopping around and has his best offer to talk to the Yankees first before signing anything.
I put the odds at better than 50/50 that when all said is done, he will end up signing with the Yankees.
