savage, NFL Teams do it, NHL teams do it and so do NBA teams at the END of a season when guys actually are wearing down and when you need to rest them for the upcoming playoffs. Not in game 17Originally posted by savage1 View Postps Again there was no rule in place and last season the Spurs did essentially the same thing with no repercussions or penalties.
That is quite important here in my overall take.

Imo it would be more appropriate for the Heat owners to slap fines on their own players for not annihilating the Spurs like they should have(assuming of course that the Heat didn't take it easy on them only for the tv audience and ratings. lol).Originally posted by wayne1218 View PostThat's fine, and Stern has every right to slap a qtr million fine on their ass for doing it too then if we are gonna go that route.Last edited by savage1; 11-30-2012, 09:23 PM.

Thats your opinion-you are neither an NBA player nor coach-obviously Popovich felt differently).Originally posted by wayne1218 View Postsavage, NFL Teams do it, NHL teams do it and so do NBA teams at the END of a season when guys actually are wearing down and when you need to rest them for the upcoming playoffs. At least the Heat showed up for the game. James wasn't sitting on his couch watching.Originally posted by savage1 View PostImo it would be more appropriate for the Heat owners to slap fines on their own players for not annihilating the Spurs like they should have(assuming of course that the Heat took it easy on them only for the tv audience and ratings. lol).

Oh so you think David Stern truly cares about the fans? I'm pretty sure he is bathing in his millions not giving two shits about the fans. I agree with you though, fans are what "pays" the leagues and without the fans we would have some different things going on. BUT I think that is no excuse to turn a game upside down, dictate the competition, and do what is best for everything beyond the game itself. I'm a fan and I don't like to see shit messed up unnecessarily. Hell I don't like to see my favorite team win a ball game that had a huge blown call or something.Originally posted by wayne1218 View PostI have to be honest too Weston. I think it's about damn time somebody cared about the fuckin fans. I'm sick of our asses taking a backseat to everybody in sports. Without the fans, there is no league. The NHL might find that out soon!

Green is 25 fuckin years old and Manu hasn't played shit for minutes this year. If anything, sit Duncan and Parker and call it a sore back or something and everybody is probably much better off with it. Instead, Pompousvich decided to give the league and fans a big middle finger.

It proves that i'm at least not alone in my thinking. There are 2 sides to it and we both have our own opinions on it.Originally posted by savage1 View PostWhat does that prove?
If one bully beats the shit out of someone and another person sees what is going on and helps him do it, does that make it right?

Good point and I thought that same thing as soon as I put that...it's also possible that he is trying to play the nice guy for the fans to give himself a better image. Not saying that he is, just saying that it's possible and that I would not discount that. Regardless, he is stupid for tweaking the NBA to what appeals to fans as opposed to doing what is best for the game itself.Originally posted by wayne1218 View PostRight, Stern has his millions and could have sat back doing absolutely nothing but waiting for retirement. He didn't and it told me he does care a little and i'm glad he does.
