While I am waiting out Hurricane Sandy I thought I would throw out a topic and see what everyone thinks. I think there are a lot of choices for this honor, Norv Turner, Andy Reid, but for my money Jason Garrett is the hands down winner. The guy has cost the Cowboys 2 games by making poor coaching decisions this year. In the Baltimore game a few weeks ago Dallas has a first down and 10 at the Ravens 34 yard line, trailing 31-29. He had 30 seconds let and one time out, so what does he do. Instead of calling a pass play that may get you 10 yards closer he does a quick slant to Dez Bryant that picks up 0 yards. Instead of having Romo spike the ball and then try another pass downfield that makes the FG easier he lets the clock run down to 4 seconds and has his kicker try a 51 yard FG, as though it was a chip shot. The FG is no good ant they lose to the Ravens
Then yesterday he has a second down and 1 from the Giants 13 on the Cowboys next to the last possession of the game. He had three time outs and over a minute left. Instead of trying to at least get a first down to keep the drive going, he calls for 3 passes down field that were all incomplete. I know Garrett didn't throw those passes but I would have tried at least 1 run play to try and pick up the first down, which would have gien him 4 more cracks from around the 10 yard line.
