It's sad. At first it sounded like he was owning it, and trying to move forward. The latest is just bizarre, and yes, ban him. It's gonna take something drastic to make these guys think twice. 50 games? I would venture to say there are a lot of guys that might gamble on roiding up during a contract year for the money it's worth. Would they do the same if they were handing out yearlong/lifetime bans? Definitely need to send a message.
Another thought... Obviously his use of PED's benefited the giants, but what if it went undetected? He signs a huge contract for an ungodly amOunt of money, then cycles off the roids and goes back to being a career .260 hitter. Sound at all like stealing?

I say we act surprised. What a minute, are you telling me all these poor Dominican kids are trying to get rich? and the risk is a 50 game suspension? No way I don't believe. Sosa, Vlad, Ortiz, Reyes, Soriano, A Rod, Pujols, etc etc. Shocking. Does anybody really blame them?

Corked bats, websites, whatever, they want money. I'm sure in the Domincan, they've been "helping" these kids for decades.

I change my vote to no. I was overreacting. He should get a 1 year ban and he has screwed up his future baseball money.

You must throw in Miguel if you're naming the Dominican players... He is innocent so far.

It's like Bruce Pearl lying about having committed juniors over for a BBQ to watch some college football. He pretty much did get the death penalty... UGH.

Ifd baseball was serious about cleaning up the cheaters they should make the penalty for getting caught using roids a 2 year ban. 50 games is a fucking joke.

I agree too. I just thought more about the lifetime ban and changed my mind. I am all for harsher penalties.
