Thanks Wayne I appreciate that and it's hard to go against a great capper like yourself... You made some great points in this thread.. Hard to argue them sometimes!

You had it right bryce and last night was one to forget for me all the way around. I had a horrible night and the Phils were just one of many losses!

Yes, he came off the DL today but you said look how he has pitched in the last month and my point was, he hasn't pitched at all in the last month because he was on the DL so what are we looking at? He has pitched 2.1 innings in the last month total and you also said they will have/need him in September and October? With his history, is there any guarantee he won't be hurt yet again when those months come?

since June 1st: 14 appearances 12.2 Innings pitched 10 hits
              11 k's 5BB and 5 ER.

You have to remember he is in Cleveland and him saving a game there is no big deal. You have 15,000 fans at a game ,no adrenaline and here he will be set up guy so its not that big of a deal but the best part is Chan Ho Park is gone.

I think for what they gave up it is worth the risk to have him come to NY and see how he performs with a new team that expects to win instead of a team that hopes to be .500

what about the BRAVES I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE GOTTEN DUNN BUT ANKIEL [IF HEALTHY} WILL BE A NICE PICKUP.

FARNSWORTH IS A GREAT PITCHER BUT IN MY OPINION WE HAVE A GREAT BULL PEN ALREADY.I THINK IF WE GET INO THE 7TH WITH THE LEAD THAN ATLANTA SHOULD WIN.

                7TH INNING FARNSWORTH
                8TH INNING JOHNNY VENTERS [3-0 WITH A 1.23 ERA IN 45 GAMES }
                9TH INNING WAGNER

AND DONT FORGET SAITO HE HAD 39 SAVES FOR THE DODGERS IN 07

AND PETER MOYLAN HAVING A GREAT YEAR ALSO

i know this may be stretching it a bit but in my opinion johnny venters is the best pitcher in the national league this year.up there with jimenez, oswalt, halladay, if anyone has ever seen how nasty his stuff is you would agree.he should be the closer of this team but when you have wagner in the pen you have to let him close just because he probably wont get rattled as easy but as pure stuff i dont see anyone in the nl with the stuff this kid has but he flies very low on the radar.but wait 5 years from now will be a household name

Venters is good but he isn't even the best set up man in the N.L. and one of the best pitchers in N.L. like OSWALT what is that.

Oswalt is not even a top 10 pitcher anymore

I think he chokes with 50,000 watching which will be a big deal---Wood hasn't had that much action EVER---and Wayne is right he may end up on the DL sooner than you think---I say by September 15th!

We will have to wait and see but I still don't care if he is there as long as Chan Ho Park is gone.

Now Robertson has a bigger part until Joba gets his head out of his butt.

For a guy who throws the same pitch 80% of the time, he better have the best fastball in the game to live up to that billing.
