Add more here if you here about them

The Rangers acquired infielder Jorge Cantu and cash considerations from the Marlins in exchange for Double-A right-handed pitchers Evan Reed and Omar Poveda on Thursday.

After considering his options and speaking with friends familiar with the Phillies' situation, including former teammate Brad Lidge, the Houston Astros' staff ace waived his no-trade clause Thursday in order to be dealt for left-handed starter J.A. Happ and two prospects, outfielder Anthony Gose and shortstop Jonathan Villar.

The NL West-leading San Diego Padres obtained infielder Miguel Tejada and just more than $1 million from the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday, convinced that the 36-year-old can help them in the infield and at the plate. The Padres gave up Double-A right-hander Wynn Pelzer.

Just in. Matt Capps traded from Washington to Minnesota

Not only would you be betting against Oswalt, you would be betting against a very HOT Phillies team right now that has won 8 straight and are feeling great about themselves right now. You would also be betting against a team in Washington that reports say just traded their closer Capps who has 26 saves. The Phils are also (44-33) vs righties and only (12-13) vs lefties. They face a righty tomorrow (Stammen) with a era of 5.50 and he has given up 16 hits and 11 runs vs Philly this year in 6.1 innings pitched (15.63 Era).

I can't see betting anything but Philly tomorrow but that's just me!

I think there will be a lot more moves. Yankees and DRays have to do something.

Frig the Yankees. I don't think with the best record in baseball that they "Have to" do anything really. They probably will but i don't think they have to. The team that "Needs to" is Boston. NO team has dealt with the injuries that they have and their bullpen is falling apart right now!

At my book phils are -175 pitchers that move to a different team in a hurry and start immediately don't normally light it up. Totally aware of the recent resurgence of the phillies at home and against pussy teams. I understand the stats Wayne.. Trust me I live this shit and make a living off of it.. Trust me ulikeapples would tell you. Anyhow all I was stating was coming to a different team and him being on the road with a new team I will gladly bet against him.. Fk for all I know he will throw a no hitter.. Just don't like it tomorrow.. No big deal.. I don't know all just stating a what I think.. No stats... No hot teams etc.. Trust me I am aware

We are just different bryce. I like the stats, trends etc. to back my wagers. I just have nothing i like about the Nats tomorrow and Roy will be excited to pitch imo. We just see it very differently i guess. GL

Ok I understand! I really do. Just like when cliff lee went to Texas all my guys jumped on it and Baltimore beat them outright. Wasn't even close! Not every game is the same I do realize that but I think with travel.. A different team... Different players.. And possible reflection on oswalts head for leaving AMD he left a lot behind not in a championship team but he has a lot vested in that town. It can be a great feeling or a feeling of being lost for a minute. I think he will do fine there with a very nice line up.. Just tomorrow may not be the day IMO!

Well when Cliff Lee was traded to Philly last year, he pitched a complete game in his 1st start and he won his 1st five in a row with the Phils. I just don't put too much thought in to that and it really goes both ways. To me a great pitcher is a great pitcher and a shitty one is ... well, shitty!

He has a lot going on and
I don't understand why teams start a guy right out of the gate..
Makes no sense to me...Texas did it with Lee.. Haren the other night and now oswalt.

I think both lee and haren are better right now than oswalt As Roy is getting a little old.
Not that he isn't good just think he should of had a few days to settle...that is all I was saying!

Good luck with the phils it will be -200 by game time!

Ha while you were saying cliff lee so was I.. Ok good point and that is one that escaped my memory. I do believe though both pitchers Lee and oswalt are on two different scales right now.. One up and one down

Honestly though, how do you know he has a lot going on? The Astros didn't even play today and Oswalt is on regular rest tomorrow. It is also better that he is pitching on the road and not in Philly. I think that takes a ton of pressure off him. Cliff Lee's 1st start for Philly was on the road too and he did great. His 1st start for texas was at home with a little more pressure and he pitched very well, they just didn't score for him. Washington is not the most intimidating place to pitch either and i don't see any of that affecting Oswalt tomorrow.

I think if anything, betting against him in his 1st start in Philly, at home, would be the better value play.

                            Good Night boys!

Roy is only 1 year older than Cliff Lee (32 & 31)
