What about Steve Park trying to make the race Saturday night.Wow,I remember hearing him in an interview a few years after his crash from 2001 and his speech and hands just wasn't the same.God only knows the pain and rehab he has probably gone through.Wish him the best

ND Guard soldier featured on Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s race car
BISMARCK (AP) — The paint scheme on Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s car during Saturday night's NASCAR race at Daytona International Speedway will feature eight soldiers, including a North Dakota National Guard member.


Earnhardt is sponsored by the National Guard. His "8 Soldiers, 8 missions" paint scheme includes Staff Sgt. Justin Lampert, with the North Dakota Guard's 818th Engineer Company.


The Crosby native tackled a gunman who had fired shots with a handgun at a Las Vegas casino in July 2007. He also served with valor in Iraq.


Lampert traveled to Florida and got to meet Earnhardt and the other soldiers.
