I haven't weighed myself in about 2 week. In the first 6-7 weeks I lost about 12 pounds. You will definitely see results. Don't expect the results you see on TV. More important than the exercises is the diet. The diet is extremely important.

The word "Diet" during P90X is an oxymoron. You can't do P90X and diet at the same time. I've actually had to increase my calorie intake to compensate for the calories burned during the workouts. The average P90X workout burns between 500-600 calories.

Like BW suggested be prepared to eat lots of chicken, fish, eggs, foods high in protein. Along with protein shake with Whey Protein powder.

How much time do you spend a day.
Do you do this at home or the gym.
Can you describe what one workout would entail.

        Frank or anyone...
I do all workouts at home. I don't have a home gym. You'll need door pull up bar, pushup bars and dumbbells. I use 15, 20, 25 and 30 pound dumbbells. I'll be upping my weight on some routines to 35 and 40 pounds.

I've lost 12 pounds and most of my 'love handles'. I've definitely toned up my upper body. My GF notices and loves the change.

I'll answer the workout description next. Give me a few.

There's 3 Phases each phase has a 1 week recovery week.

          Phase 1:

Day 1: Chest and Back. Mostly different pullups and pushups. Limited weights.

Day 2: Plyometrics. By far the toughest P90X workout. Cardio with some jumping, lunges, squats etc.

Day 3: Shoulders and Arms. Almost all weight training

Day 4: Yoga. Trust me. If you're like me the thought of Yoga is like WTF. I've learned to love Yoga. What an incredible workout yet relaxing. The sweat pours off my.

Day 5: Back and Legs. Pullups for back and lots of lunges and squats for legs. IMO the 2nd toughest P90X workout. Very hard

Day 6: Kenpo. Love it! Very fun cardio workout. Kinda like Karate. Lots of punches and kicks.

Day 7: Rest day or stretching. I've chosen to do the stretches each week. You'll need it. Be prepared to be sore every day.

On Days 1, 3 and 5 there's also AB Ripper. A very tough ab workout. It lasts 16 minutes.

All the other workouts are approx 60 minutes except Yoga. Yoga lasts 90 minutes. It's 45 minutes of Yoga and 45 minutes of stretching and Abs.

It amazes me that all of the espn radio jocks are doing it ???? and pushing the product at the same time ?

What is up with all of that , and how much do they pocket ? ever wonder ?

They seem to push the same crap and talk about the same crap everyday, be it M&M, doug gottlieb, colin the jerk , and the rest....
" So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide.
.....All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us
              "

Don't assume that because they're pushing the workout it's not a good workout or they have some other motivation.

They didn't start off by pushing the product. Gottlied started first then followed by Colin. They push the product because it's an incredible workout routine. If one makes the commitment P90X can be addicting. It'll consume you. I wake early to ensure I workout. As I mentioned above each workout is at least 60 minutes. I plan ahead. On Mondays I have to be out of the house early. I wake earlier.

I'm 50 years old. I highly recommend P90X to everyone and anyone.

You're right but getting testimonial from a "real" person usually makes us feel more comfortable. There's lots of mis-information on the internet. In the beginning I was skeptical about P90X. I'm skeptical about most TV Infomercials.

Initially, I researched P90X not because I wanted to do the workouts. I was looking for new workout routine. I was bored with my routine. Our bodies adapt to the same workout. It's called muscle memory. P90X relies on muscle confusion. That's why they have different routines everyday and change them through the different phases.

It never gets easy. It gets easier because you learn the routine. Today, I finished week 9 and I'm sore as hell. As you become more and more fit you push yourself harder and harder. As an example. Today was Kenpo. I now use 2 1/2 pound weights through most of Kenpo.
