I (AND OBVIOUSLY THE COMMITTEE) go by the fact that their schedule was a joke.
AGAIN, THEIR BEST WIN ALL YEAR WAS AT GEORGIA TECH. THAT IS BRUTAL
Well, the committee is based on one thing, opinion. We all know that and that is why people have these debates every year after the field is announced. You could have 20 different guys in there that see things differently and that also would be their opinions. They chose to base their decision on what a computer spit out and i based mine on what actually happened when they played each other on a court. That's all.
It's a joke. Look at Minny's non conference and the fact they finished 6th in the BIG Ten at (9-9) and tell me how they got in over anybody. Also, GT did virtually NOTHING in non conference, had a LOSING record in the ACC and they get in?
Every year seems to be a disagreement. My dad told me he remembers when there were only 32 teams and there were disagreements back then too. Someone always gets left out
Wonder if there will be this much confusion or disagreement if college football goes to a playoff?
They should go to a 72 team field. You add 7 teams to the 65 we have now and it adds only 1 round (Played on Tuesday) to what we have now. The bottom 16 teams play 8 games on Tuesday leaving 56 teams with a bye in round 1. You take the 8 winners from those 1st round games and add them to the 56 waiting and you have your 64 team field. The Schools would love it, the bettors would love it and most importantly, CBS would love it because they could make back the money they say they are losing on it right now. It's a win, win imo. You then enter 7 teams that are in the NIT like Va Tech, Illinois and Miss St to this field and we have a GREAT Tourney starting on Thursday.
Why don't we just let everyone play? 72? Come on now Wayne.
What? We went from 32 to 64. Did you bitch then??
It's better than the proposed 96 they are suggesting.
CFB has about 113 teams and about 60% play in Bowl games. Do you bitch and moan about that cuz there are over 300 CBB Teams and 72 doesn't seem that far fetched to me.

Who's bitching and moaning. I'm joking around. Holy shit, my bad I forgot the emoticons.
I know people love the automatic bids and all but when a team like Ark Pine Bluff is in and a team like Miss St is watching from home, there is something wrong with that imo. Either ditch the shit conference automatic bids or expand it a little and let teams like Miss St and Va Tech in. This isn't Hoosiers and never will be. No team like Ark Pine Bluff will ever win it so why waste our time with them. I would rather see the BEST 65 teams in, period.
Even if you expand to 72, or 96, you still end up having the same arguments every year with the bubbles. It's like if they made the BCS an 8 team tournament, the #9 team would still bitch like hell. Can never make everyone happy I guess.

But if you expanded by 7, you wouldn't have a (23-8) team from a power conference sitting home. Let a team that went (7-9) in conference bitch or a team that went (16-12). Who cares about them. When this field was expanded to 64, NONE of these secondary conferences like the Missouri Valley, Horizon or West Coast conferences ever sent more than 1 team. You also didn't even have Conferences like the Mountain West who has 3 teams in or C-Usa who has 2 teams in. Those Conferences didn't even exist. You have to make adjustments for those things.
