all joking aside - this city is going crazy right now. this has been the best thing to happen here in a long time. Since Katrina, not much good has happened here and no matter what happens on Sunday, this city has had the best ride ever.
You just don't know the class that Coach Payton, Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, and MANY other Saints have shown here. When they came back from road games, there were literally 10,000 people out to greet them at the airport.
The coaches and players have embraced this city, even before this season and this season has just been fantastic for the morale around here.
WHEN we win Sunday, this city will probably shut down for 2 days !!!
Win or lose, this has been the best thing for these people here in a long time.jc Wishes He Can Get A Goat

I'm giving a slight edge to the Vikes this weekend. I think they matchup very well against the Saints and should beat them. The homefield concerns me some but not enough to make fret. I'm not afraid of the big bad Saints. Bring on Sunday!!!
PKNo thrills, frills, spills or write-ups. Just givin ya the winners everyday.

The bias in this thread is comical..

the colts play well against ryan D's like was stated already. i don't see this turning out any different than the raven game. balt and the jets D is very similar (you don't stop manning by blitzing!), both have to run the ball, and the ravens have a qb with experience. the jets TD's in week 16 came on a kick return and fumble return against the backup QB, until the colts put the 2nd and 3rd team in the game. here is a list of colt that didn't play at all in week 16.
Melvin Bullitt - Starting Strong Safety - Did Not Play
Jerraud Powers - Starting Cornerback - Did Not Play
Clint Session - Starting Linebacker - Did Not Play
Robert Mathis - Starting Defensive End - Did Not Play
Keyunta Dawson - Backup Defensive End - Did Not Play
Charlie Johnson - Starting Left Tackle - Did Not Play
Pierre Garcon - Starting Wide Receiver - Did Not Play
Matt Stover - Kicker - Did Not Play
turnovers and special teams are the only way the jets keep this close. i don't see them getting more than 10 points on offense. if the colts get up 2 td's, and the jets have to start throwing with a rookie qb, it might get real ugly.Originally posted by husker View Postthe jets O-line is better than the ravens, but rice is the better RB. flacco isn't that bad of a qb. he has had some really good games this year and scored a lot of points. the jets win on D, their offense can't win games for them.Originally posted by husker View Postone other thing. wayne had 3 catches for 33 yards in 1/2 a game against revis, and had him beat for a long td if manning doesn't over throw him. revis was not a factor in week 16.

2)N.O didn't finish well, lost to Carolina, T.B, Dallas who worked them over at home), should have lost to Washington in OT, and pulled a squeeker against Atlanta. They haven't played well since the NE game on Monday night (nov.30th)
3)This entire week will be on Farve, and i just have a feeling the real AP will show up, i think farve will manage the clock, and the vikes defense will be very intimidating, did you see romo's eyes, he was scared
4)And finally, who has N.O. beat this year, only 2 team over .500, it's Atlanta and New England THATS IT, vikes have played 6 games against playoff teams, 2x GB, Balti, Pitts, AZ and cinci (4-2) and that pitts game we totally dominated but a loss is a loss. N.O in my eye has had a very weak sch. and hasn't been tested like this team that is making it's way down the mississippi.
Vikes 27
N.O 17

This was a classic case of not what team you played but when you played them. Had they played the Colts and Bengals the first 2 games of the year instead of the last 2 games they would be watching the playoffs on TV. Then they play against two of the better kickers in the NFL who proceed to miss 5 makeable field goals. There luck is going to run out this week. Jets are a carbon copy of the Ravens, play strong defense, have a good running game and hope your QB manages the game and doesn't lose it for you. I think you will see very similar results this week that you saw last week. Colts win this game easily 31-10.

Originally posted by baseballdave View Posti keep hearing about how "bad the saints defense is" and how "great minny's defense is"
based on last week, except for one run, the saints defense did pretty well against a team that scored over 40 the week before on green bay, who was the #7 ranked defense in the nfl.
minny looked "GREAT" last week against dallas, but if you are using the whole schedule, just like everyone is looking at the saints schedule, minny's defense wasn't that great either.
minny gave up 20 to cleveland, 24 to san fran, 31 to baltimore, 36 to chicago and 26 to carolina - all teams with supposedly "not much offense."
they also gave up 23 and 26 to green bay and 30 to arizona.
based upon the WHOLE regular schedule, don't tell me that minny's defense proved they were world beaters.
the same with the saints. they also were not world beaters either.
BOTH teams played good defense last week. It is just a matter of which team plays the same defense on this Sunday
just mine and the goats opinion

Chado, your completely wrong about why I am picking the Colts. Considering Rex Ryan was the Ravens defensive coordinator for 5 years, if I was bitter about the loss to Indy, wouldn't it make more sense for me to be pulling for the Jets. I gave my honest opinion of the game as I see it. I don't think Sanchez is ready to beat Manning and the Colts.
