Everyone is too sensitive on the race thing. White people and black people are different, it doesn't mean that one is better than the other. Men and women are different, doesn't make one better than the other. What's wrong with embracing the differences? Why does everyone have to be even at everything? It's alright for some races or genders to be better at certain things.

Bottom line......and I'm elevating this to the professional level.......there have been very few great white RBs and very few great black QBs. Thre is probably some racism that has lead to both those statements being true, but all we can go by is the reality we live in.

I was just looking at the stats, and while Spiller is a heck of all around player, the stats aren't even remotely close. Gerhart has doubled up Spiller statistically and the Pac-10 and ACC are both equally average conferences. Gerhart would probably be my #1, Keenum probably #2, and Spiller #3.

I don't know if McCoy would even crack my top 5 college QB's this year for the Davey O'Brien award, let alone the Heisman. I'd probably take Clausen, Andy Dalton, Kellen Moore, and Keenum, ahead of him.

I disagree that teams don't give white RBs a chance due to "racial outtake". IMO race isn't a factor when teams recruit RBs or any position players. If a team is recruiting a white RB and black RB of equal talent do you actually believe they'll select the black RB because they're concerned about the public perception?

I'll say it again, Colt McCoy does NOT come close to deserving the Heisman. Awful game tonight.

Spiller trying to make a late push I'd say.....wow.

Wayne, no way you can say Colt deserves the Heisman based on this year. Not even close.

haha not arguing but i still like spiller. i truly don't think he will win, but i think he is the best player.
honestly, i think mccoy still wins with ingram second and tebow third.
i still believe the best player is spiller and then gerhart. they mean more to their team than any of the other three.
                again, just my opinion.

Spiller had a great night but again, they lost. I know he is their MVP but even when he has a big game it's not enough. Spiller was 54th in the Country in rushing yards before tonight and he wasn't even at 1000 yards yet. He also only has 7 rushing TD's (11 after tonight).

Gerhart leads the country in Rushing with 1736 yards and he leads the country in rushing TD's with 26. The guy in 2nd only has 20.

                  I'm finally sold. It's Gerhart's Tropy IMO!!!

i hope you are right. i think he deserves it but i think the media around the country has already given it to mccoy or tebow.

McCoy will win it cause it is a popularity contest. it is what college football is all about making money and not nothing else plain and simple

???? Did anyone see what Ingram did against the number one defense yesterday?

Not saying this bc I am a Bama homer but it comes down to level of competition for me. Yes Toby Gerhart has a had a great year, but when is the last time anyone played D in the Pac 10? Spiller has had great numbers but the ACC is a joke. GT lost to a bad Georgia team last week and Clemson lost to an ok South Carolina team....

Ingram has one bad game vs. Auburn, gets hurt, and then blows up vs. the Gators. 113 rsh yds 3 tds and 76 receiving yds....

                        My vote would go

                        Ingram
                        McCoy
                        Gerhart
                        Spiller

I was wondering why Ingrams name was not brought up?

Probably because he disappeared the last few weeks. I don't think 1 big game will bring him back and to the top. Gerhart has not let up all year.

INgram is one of the best players on one of the best teams. He tore up the best D in the country yesterday for: 115 rush yds, 76 rec, and 3 tds. I love Toby, but those Pac-10 D's are not the same as the SEC D's. Pundits are always talking about how one closes. Mark closed big time yesterday. He's been a front-runner all year. He deserves the trophy. MY top 5 in order:

                              Ingram
                              Gerhert (spl?)
                              Suo( Nebraska dline)
                              Spiller
McCoy ( he should have lost it last night. Not only did he throw 3 picks, but ran the clock out on the last play of the game. What an idiot!)

I'll agree with your top 4 in that order. I refuse to include McCoy.....and it's spelled Mr. Suh
Glad Suh came back for his last year or we would have been horrific this year.
