I didn't know the post about Welker and Collie was directed at "anybody". I didn't know I couldn't comment on it.

As for what's in bold, I thought I could do the same.

    Have a nice night Wayne.
I don't care if you comment on anything but don't sit beyond your keyboard telling me to relax when i'm talking football and you have no clue if i'm already doing that.

It's all good dave. I try to make a simple point that it is equally rare to see a white WR lead the NFL in receptions and NOBODY ever mentions color there so why are we doing it here. It was a valid point but some people couldn't comprehend that or think oh yea, that is weird.

Wayne you truely mean to tell me that you do not find it at all interesting that a white RB is getting heisman recognition. Being racist is if I were to say WOOOHOOO white RB finally. I see good talent in Gerhart and he happens to be white. Whats the big deal?

If the word "relax" is the root of this hostility, then I apologize. It was a statement.

Your right wayne. Did not mean to blow it up. Just found it rather rare, its sad but most teams do not even give White RBs a chance because of the "racial" outtake on football athletes nowadays

I think the comment was racial. Anytime you start something dan by saying "I'm not a racist but"

And then you say it is amazing simply because he is white, it has a racial overtone written all over it. Some of us simply think he is a great RB and don't think oh my god, he is white too. I just don't.

I agree. I could care less about skin color. I have coached from 5-6 yr olds up thru high school and it never made one bit of difference to me about skin color. When you draft fantasy players, I look at production, not color.

Dan, I think, and again this is my opinion, but I think what Wayne is saying is that when you start a statement by saying "I'm not racist but...", you put people on the defensive before they even finish reading the rest.

Next you say that "most teams do not even give White RBs a chance because of the "racial" outtake on football athletes nowadays."
I REALLY don't think coaches care if they are white or black, or pink or purple. If they can run, they can run. To say that most teams don't give "white rbs a chance" I think is way off base. Coaches get paid to win and if a "white RB" is the best one to help him win, he will take the "white RB." They don't and can't look at skin color. They have to look at production.

I already made a bet on Ingram at -140 last week to win the heisman. Gerhart was +125 and McCoy was +110. If I had a vote it would go to Gerhart. The kid is a stud and has carried that team the whole year. The thing that makes me like him so much is that it seems that he seeks out contact. He reminds me of Paul Hornung. the kids legs are thick like paul's were, and its hard to tackle him. Tebow also reminds me of Hornung, without all the ladies that Paul use to get. Now, I know neither player is as versatile as Paul was, but as far as build and sheer leg power they do. Toby also looks a little like Earl Campbell. The kid is a stud and has a ton of heart. He looked gassed last night, but he kept his nose down, and played his heart out... I like the kid.

Gerhart had a monster game against sorry ass Notre Dame, thats what got J Russel the #1 pick...he is the sorriest excuse for a QB in the NFL
Tebone will win. ESPN has been on his sack all season. They spend more time on Tebow than Favre.

Florida has played some weak ass opponents. Their schedule is a joke not to mention 8 home games vs. 4 road contests. Another reason college football is a fucking disgrace.

I didn't believe your original comment was racist. I do believe you were pointing out that's it's rare to find a great white RB. More so one in contention for the Heisman.

I disagree that teams don't give white RBs a chance due to "racial outtake". IMO race isn't a factor when teams recruit RBs or any position players. If a team is recruiting a white RB and black RB of equal talent do you actually believe they'll select the black RB because they're concerned about the public perception?

It's been 36 years since a white RB won the Heisman. John Cappelletti of Penn State in 1973.

It will be 37 after McCoy wins it!

There is something WRONG if McCoy doesn't win it. When you throw for 300 and run for 178 ... enough said!!!!!!!!!
I strongly disagree with McCoy. He had a fantastic last game, no argument, but before that he had really done nothing this year. Hesiman isn't supposed to be a career award......two year award.......or he is the one of the big 3 (Teebow, Bradford, McCoy) that hadn't won it award.

Texas played an AWFUL schedule this year......I mean AWFUL. The Big 12 was probably one of ht ewors major conferences in football. Oklahoma was very weak this year and Colt did nothing against them (21-39 for 127 yards, 1 TD, 1 Int). The only other two decent teams he played were Texas Tech and Oklahoma State, and he did nothing against them either. Against TT he was 24-34 for 205 yards, 1 TD and 2 Int. Against Okie State he was 16-21 171 yards, 1 Td, 0 Ints.

McCoy will be top 3 and could win, but I see no way you can make a great case for him to win it based on THIS year's numbers.

I think a team like Florida will crush Texas if they both make it the Championship. Texas is the furthest thing from being battle tested.
