The Florida Highway Patrol wanted to get a blood test from Tiger Woods after the crash, because a witness told them Tiger was boozing earlier in the day -- this according to new documents obtained by TMZ.



FHP had requested Tiger's blood sample, after a witness -- we're told his wife -- "stated that the driver had consumed alcohol earlier in the day and the same witness removed the driver from the vehicle after the collision."

The document continues, "The same witness stated that the driver was prescribed medication (Ambien and Vicatin [sic]}."

As we first reported, it was Elin Nordegren who pulled Tiger from the crash and told cops he had taken medicine (but she didn't know when) and even brought the pill bottles to the EMTs.

The document concludes, "Impairment of the driver is also suspected due to the careless driving that resulted in the traffic crash."

Ultimately, the FHP's request for the blood sample was denied, on grounds of insufficient evidence to issue a subpoena.

The FHP has determined alcohol was not a factor.

Woods admitted to Health Central Hospital as an overdose

Tiger Woods was admitted to Health Central Hospital the day after Thanksgiving as an overdose.

Sources connected with the hospital tell TMZ the admissions chart lists "OD" and that he was having trouble breathing.

We're told the fifth floor of the hospital was put on lockdown when Tiger arrived. Tiger was admitted under an alias -- William Smith. His wife, Elin Nordegren was by his side.

As we first reported, Elin gave paramedics two pill bottles at the accident scene -- we now know the prescriptions were for Ambien and Vicodin. Tiger was in and out of consciousness, snoring at the scene, and our sources say he clearly appeared to be under the influence of something -- not alcohol.

We're also told doctors used a breathing tube to assist his respiration.

We're also told hospital officials changed Tiger's alias after a few hours to another alias because they feared people would find out he was there.

WINDERMERE, Fla. » A blond-haired woman has taken by ambulance from the Florida home of troubled golfer Tiger Woods today.

WESH-TV, and several other news agencies, are reporting that the woman was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee as an advanced life support patient after initially refusing transport.

The station says firefighters were called to Woods' home at 2:36 a.m. Florida time.

Woods' wife is blond, but there was no immediate confirmation on the patient's identity.

Woods has made headlines in the past week after revelations about several alleged extramarital affairs and a highly-publicized accident in which he purportedly crashed an SUV into a fire hydrant and a tree, sustaining minor injuries.

Woods later issued an apology for unspecified "transgressions," and then cancelled his appearance at a golf tournament he sponsored.

WESH-TV reports that a black Cadillac Escalade was seen leaving the hospital shortly after the ambulance arrived there. The tag on the Escalade was similar to the one involved in Woods' Nov. 27 crash.

Health Central is the same hospital where Woods was taken after his crash.
