In this case, we are talking about a famous golfer, who got into a car accident over a sexual affair or affairs-quite a bit different in my opinion-it is a colossal bore from my point of view and should receive zero attention other than his medical condition.

I agree w/ you, but the reality is TV and radio is a business, no different than anything else. The news/radio/internet wouldn't cover this if people weren't interested. Not saying it is right, but like all business, it is about supply and demand.

      ABSOLUTELY.
However, that doesn't preclude and/or mean that thinking folks shouldn't look at its relative importance from a non business point of view.

      • So the mistress cancelled her press conference today after Tiger contacted her and had a 1/2 hour conversation on the phone??? TMZ thinks she was paid money to shut up and they are probably right.

        • This countries obsession with the rich and famous sickens me. I'm at a loss why so many people are so obsessed with the Kardashian's of the world. The Kardashian clan is a bunch of fucking nobodies that are richer because people are intrigued with their meaningless life.

            • How weird is this?

Elin and Tiger Woods had a prenuptual agreement, as expected. The couple is undergoing marital counseling, as you'd also expect. And now The Daily Beast is reporting that Elin Woods is renegotiating that prenup to get an immediate $5 million payout from her husband and as much as $55 million more to stay with him for two more years.

The initial prenup was worth $20 million after 10 years of marriage. However, the Chicago Sun-Times' Bill Zwecker has reported that Elin Woods will receive an immediate payment "into an account she alone controls," and that the 10-year timeframe -- which began when they married in 2004 -- has been shortened and the value increased "substantially."

The Daily Beast quotes "a lawyer familiar with the couple's negotiations" in reporting that the term of the prenup has been shortened to seven years, and that a series of staggered payments could increase the total value to $75 million.

But apparently there's also a behavioral component to all this: Elin Woods must "be a dutiful wife in showing up with him at social events and in public as if they were still the perfect couple, and sign a nondisclosure form that will prevent her from ever telling her story."

It's important to note that to date, there's no concrete evidence that Elin Woods has ever been anything but the perfectly dutiful golf wife. I'm sure the Woodses would like nothing more than to portray domestic calm to the world, and Elin Woods now apparently has several million more reasons to do just that.

That is really unreal. That is now simply a contract and not a marriage. It sounds like if she works for him as a wife for 2 more years, she really gets paid. She may hate him and just play the role for 2 more years just to cash in by the sounds of it. Just very weird and i've never heard of anything like this.

Exactly. The FHP is as afraid of Tiger as his fellow players who usually shit their pants when he enters the room. I cannot believe the comments from these guys about his affair - almost making him out to be the victim. The only one with any "balls" is Jesper, my new favorite golfer!

Do you think only overpaid athletes cheat?
