Wasn't one of these kids the one who Kiffin said Meyer was cheating when trying to recruit? I'm pretty sure it was. Whose laughing now? I'm willing to bet Meyer and he is probably glad that THUG didn't choose UF!

Admittedly I don't know one single thing about these kids, but I'd be surprised if these kids aren't just pieces of crap. Raised by grandma with no male role models. Even marginal kids don't go out and just rob someone at gunpoint.

bush you hit the nail right on the head here. If somewhere in your fucking brain something doesnt hit you and say guys this doesnt seem like a good idea here lets go workout or something they deserve prison time and they forfeit their right to play college footbal forever.

This has to fall on lane kiffin. I know football players get in touble for fighting, drinking, and pot; but this falls on Kiffin's lack of leadership and lack of maturity.

Kiffin cant be tailing these guys 24 hours a day. The lack of leadeship with these young men most likely happened years ago with their parents (if any were present) in teaching common sense right from wrong like armed robbery

                Bingo!

If convicted, there is almost zero chance they ever resurface again. Considering they are obviously piece of shit criminals, football was the ONLY chance of making it out of the hood........which back to one of the original posts.........they absolutely ruined their lives.

As much as I agree with you on Kiffin's lack of leadership and immaturity, and despite the fact that I can't stand Kiffin, I can't put this on him. There are over 100 kids on a football team, and these coaches probably don't even know some of the kids on the team. Coaching, recruiting, studying film, game planning, radio interviews, televison shows, booster club meetings, a coach's day is more than 100% full. It would be impossible to babysit every kid. To me the only fault I could lay at the feet of a coach would be just recruiting a questionable kid. I don't know if these involved kids had any red flags or not.

I'm sure Jackson had some problems but we all know in a competitive world of the SEC, ALL the coaches have to take some chances. This one backfired.

These stupid teenagers go out and pull an ARMED ROBBERY and the coachs Leadership & Maturity is questioned ??

Last I checked, there were at least 85 Division 1 schools that required incoming student athletes to pull at least 1 ARMED ROBBERY in their freshmen year or the coach would be fired.

Do the schools need to hire individual babysitters for these men ??

Do signs have to be placed in college locker rooms that read:

PLEASE DO NOT COMMIT ARMED ROBBERY TODAY AS IT IS AGAINST THE LAW

all I know is that the Vols did not need this type of 'street cred.' Also, this does not happen as frequently on teams where the coach is feared and respected by his players. Saban had some trouble with some kids at Bama his first year, but they were not his guys- not making an excuss. But, all these guys were Freshman and Lane's recruits. All the people that were in trouble in Saban's first year were guys from the Shula classes. By the way, Shula was another coach that lacked leadership qualities and was too immature for the job. I think a lot of the problems young coaches get into is that they try to befriend their kids. They do not need friends, they need someone they fear and respect.

                          I agree.

Unfortunately this is a sign of the times, it always has to be someone else's fault. Nobody ever wants to blame the guilty party. People always to find an explanation for why people do stuff.

I'm sure Saban recruited Richardson along with everyone else in the SEC.Should we blame his high school coach for not teaching him right from wrong?

not at all. I'm just saying there is no way this kid does this if he were playing for Nick. The kids would worry more about what NIck would do to them, rather than the law. Furthermore, I do put 99% of the blame on the kids, its their fault, and it was stupid on their part.

So really your only puting 1% of the blame on Kiffin so IMO that makes him a non issue!
