I don't care when or what he decides, it's his life and his choice and he is better than anything else Minny has, even at 41 years old!
Wayne, I don't agree with you often, but yes, this is the best post I've ever seen from you.

I have money on the Saints to win the SB, but are these f'ing haters serious? Again, how long was that FG?

    • Yeah, I'm not a Favre guy, but dude, he got the absolute shit kicked out him and I thought he played a very good game and had an amazing year. No way the Vikes get this close to the Super Bowl with Tavaris Jackson.

58 yards, and Longwell has been a massive choke artist in the playoffs. No chance he hits that FG if that ball goes incomplete.

I wish Tavaris Jackson would have played !!!

Favre is BY FAR the best QB for Minny and they might not have won 6 games without him

what relevance does me throwing a football at 40 have?

and i'd argue about the level we can say this guy is. has only won 4 of his last 11 playoff games, only 1 super bowl, and has ended his last two playoff games with INTs.

              • The last 2 NFC Title games he lost were BOTH in overtime. It's not like he didn't show up for them. The 1st one was a team that proved they were not going to be denied in the Giants and in the 2nd one he never saw the ball in ot.

I don't see how that makes him on the downside or anything else. There were a bunch of 20-30 year old pro bowl qb's watching from home in both cases while he was 38 and 40 years old. Not sure how anyone can think that is anything but amazing.

                • Not even going to dignify some of the posts here with responses. He could have thrown for 500 yards and 6 TDs. If he lost, it's his fault, no matter what right? You guys are fucking nuts.

                  • Out of 32 NFL teams, this 41 yr old is EASILY in the top 15. The state of QB's in the NFL is not great and Favre, at 41 , is better than most in the NFL.

QB's - Buff X, Miami X, Jets rookie, New England Brady
Pitt Big Ben, Balt X, Cincy ?(palmer), Clev X
Jacksonville X, Tennessee X, Colts Manning, Houston ? (Schaub)
Broncos ? Orton, K. City X, San Diego Rivers, Oak X
Dallas Romo, Giants Manning, Philly McNabb, Wash X
                    G. Bay Rodgers,Minny Favre, Bears ? (Cutler), Det X
NO Brees, Atl Ryan, Carolina X, Tampa X
Arizona Warner, SF X, Seattle X, Rams X

How many good ones are there?
Favre is as good at 41 as most of these guys on this list.

                      Top 15?

If I had to start next year with a QB, I would go:

                      Manning
                      Brees
                      Brady
                      Rodgers
                      Favre
                      Rivers
                      Warner

AGAIN, HE'S STILL AN ELITE QB IN THIS LEAGUE. PEOPLE F'ING AMAZE ME WITH THEIR HATERADE.

and in both of those games, the last pass he threw were INTs! nobody (or at least me) is disputing he can play. the problem is people make him out to be the greatest thing ever, when time and time again he makes a bad decision or a pick when it counts the most!!!

                            • and if you were to bet on which qb would make a costly mistake with a terrible INT at the end of regulation, is there anyone who wouldn't have bet Favre today?

In the WC round of the playoffs, Brady got sacked and fumbled and he also threw 2 picks, all in the 1st quarter. Before you could blink, they were losing 24-0 after one quarter. You can lose a game in the 1st quarter just as easily as the 4th. The Favre pick didn't cost them the game yesterday, it cost them a "Chance" at a 55 yard fg to win it in regulation, that's it.
