ok mavs who has tom brady been throwing to in his superbowl run? troy brown??

      or ben rothliesburger....santonio holmes

      who were elways receivers?

all three of these guys made their team better without a shitload of all pro receivers and they have more rings and less picks.

        Bart Starr
        Roger Staubach

Not suggesting they're better. I'm only throwing some names out there.

IMO I'd rank Steve Young ahead of Brett Favre.

I never said these guys weren't great or even better...

I responded to this post, which I saw and still see as incorrect.

The best offense weapon that was ever on a Favre team is Adrian Peterson, this year. He has never had a truly notable offensive player on his team.

It still doesn't excuse his INT rate.

The only problem with ranking him against the whole history is that the rules were so different for the defense back then.

I have to give some of the old school guys some props because they were getting roughed up and late hit all the time. Plus coaches ran the ball more knowing this was the case. Plus, the defense mugged the recievers back then. So you cannot compare Farve to Johnny Unitias, Sammy Baugh, Bart Starr, you might even throw in Bradshaw and Staubach.

                  Never said it did.

I am a big Pack fan and obviously biased. I just find it unreasonable to think that Favre is good or who he is because of who he has played with.

Very true. When one looks at the stats they'll see Johnny U and Joe Willie completion rate around 50% It's not a fair comparison. They were protected like the skirt wearing QBs now.

                      Mavs,

Not to say Farve had players or not but dont you think that this is true:

Good quarterbacks make good receivers instead of the other way around.

Agree 95%. The great ones need no receivers.

But there are some "good" QBs who have been made by their receivers.

I stated he played on some good teams which for some reason youre arguing that point with me. When his teams were shitty he wasnt that good.

which included one of the best defensive players of all time.......Reggie white

He had a great season in 1996. he has had great career and once again I will state he has played on some damn good teams.......even if jerry rice wasnt on his team.
