Again I don't know all the facts. I'm unaware of the CT employment laws and his contract.

If they terminated him and she was not terminated he'd have grounds for a lawsuit.
Doubt it. Wrongfully terminated for what? Almost every company has you sign a contract that states very clearly they can fire you at any time for any reason. Unless he can prove sexual discrimination. Hard to prove for a male in the courts, esp when he had an affair with a female employee. Nor was there race or age discrimination. Most states have similar employment laws. Race, age or sexual discrimination.

Meaningless! Many employment agreements also have non-compete agreements. In many cases they're not enforceable. These type of agreements are not iron clad.

Again, we don't know his contract. You're assuming he has such a contract. With or without one he has grounds.

Meaningless? Yeah right....Sorry, you're wrong. I guarantee you ESPN has an employee contract. There's no way they don't. Waaaaaaay too big to not have such a contract and yes, it IS enforceable, to fire at will.

Not to mention, he has position of authority over that employee. Him having an affair with a female staff member brings disrepute to ESPN and being such, they have every reason to fire him. He has absolutely NO grounds for a lawsuit. He can try, but he won't win. Not to mention he had a history of inappropriate behavior with the Mets with a woman even uglier than this current one. No court is going to reward him for having an affair twice with two separate companies.....

                There's two separate issues here.

First as I stated I don't know the facts of this case.
I guarantee you ESPN has an employee contract. There's no way they don't. Waaaaaaay too big to not have such a contract and yes, it IS enforceable, to fire at will.
You are dead wrong. At Will is not iron clad. You can't fire someone just because you want to fire them. Contract or no contract. If you fire an employee due to discrimination, retaliation, etc an employee has grounds for wrongful termination.

If two employees have an affair. One employee gets suspended then fired while the other employee faces no repercussions then one unquestionably has a potential case to file wrongful termination on the basis of discrimination. If the employer fires both employees than there's no grounds for a lawsuit.

Again as I stated I didn't know the facts of this particular case. On the facts you presented I do agree with you. If he's in a position of authority over the employee and he's had prior history of inappropriate behavior then his chances for a successful lawsuit is slim to none.

Maybe this will all blow over(no pun intended) over time and he will get another job such as was the case with Marv Albert.

Women can be crazy. Phillips deserves to be fired and so does the fat whale.

I read that she's also no longer with ESPN. The article didn't say if she was fired or quit but either way she's out too.

You are wrong about your interpretations of the labor laws for the most part. I can go into detail if you'd like???

                                She was fired anyhow.
