If you are bringing up power numbers as your basis for qualifing hitting combos then I think instead of Mauer/Morneau I would analyze Morneau/Kubel...

    Just my .02

How about 1A) Kubel and Cuddyer?

mavs, You would take Kemp over Youkilis? The guy finished 3rd in MVP voting last year with Teixeira like numbers and won the Gold Glove at 1st. If he didn't miss almost 3 weeks this year, his numbers would be right there with last year. You would take Kemp over him?

Yes. I want a guy who can hit for average, drive in a decent amount of runs, steal bags, and drive one out every now and then. I want a guy like that over a guy who is STRICTLY power.

If Youk's BA was a bit higher then sure I'd take Youk. I don't know exactly what Youkilis' numbers were last year, but if he had a BA over .285, I 'd take him over Kemp, but for now he doesn't and that's what I'm basing my answer on.

Kemp is on pace for at least a 25/25 season with 90 RBIs and an average over .310. He's no slouch.

Like I said before, I perfer the complete players over the power hitters, or the specialist guys. As a complete player is very hard to find.

I was actually serious. Morneau is the best player on this team and I honestly believe that too many people underrate Kubel as a hitter. Unless you are saying because Kubel isnt an everyday player. Which he has been for the last month due to injuries and Delmon Young's inability to hit the ball. Joe Mauer is an enigma...Unbelievable talent at catcher and this year he's had a sweet outburst of power. However he's only hit 4 of those HR's this month. He simply had a huge June. Kubel's the better power guy...Seriously
